Jawahar Singh
Maharaja Jawahar Singh () was the ruler of the Bharatpur Kingdom. He succeeded to the throne when his father, Maharaja Surajmal, died in 1763. Early life Jawahar Singh was born to Maharaja Surajmal and Maharani Gauri in the Sinsinwar clan of Jats. He was later adopted by Maharani Kishori of Palwal. He was the 22nd direct descendant of Chaudhary Sobha Singh of Bayana, who founded Sinsini in 12th century by defeating native Kalals. During Ahmed Shah Abdali's invasion of India in 1757, Abdali attacked Ballabhgarh. In a battle between the Durranis and Prince Jawahar Singh, the latter managed to captured 150 Durrani horses. Jawahar Singh had to escape from the fort in the night as the defence of the fort was not possible in the face of heavy bombardments of Abdali's guns. Jawahar Ravirai Bakshi (born 19 February 1947) is a Gujarati poet from Gujarat, India. Biography Jawahar Bakshi was born on 19 February 1947 in Junagadh to Nilavati and Ravirai Bakshi. He completed his schooling from Swami Vivekanand Vinay Mandir. He completed Bachelor of Commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1964 and became a chartered accountant. Bakshi wrote his first ghazal in 1959 and had written more than 700 ghazals. His ghazals explore spirituality. The Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) is a multi-arts center located in the city of Jaipur, India. It was built by the Government of Rajasthan to preserve Rajasthani arts and crafts. The center has eight blocks housing museums, an amphitheater, a closed auditorium, a library, art display rooms, a cafeteria, a small hostel, and an art studio. It also houses two permanent art galleries and three others, and it hosts its yearly theatre festival. Jawahar Point or Jawahar Sthal is the site near the Shackleton Crater where the Moon Impact Probe (MIP) of the Chandrayaan-1 hard landed on lunar surface on 14 November 2008.
