Jason Slater
Jason C. Slater (March 8, 1971 – December 9, 2020) was an American record producer, songwriter and musician. He is best known for being the founding bassist and backup vocalist for the American rock band Third Eye Blind from 1993 to 1994. Following his departure from Third Eye Blind, Slater co-founded the rap rock band Brougham with Luke Oakson and the industrial rock band Snake River Conspiracy with Eric Valentine. He was also a member of two supergroups; "Band of Flakes" (with George Lynch), and Revenge of the Triads (with Charlie Clouser and Troy Van Leeuwen), Outside of his work with bands, Slater produced several albums, most notably with the progressive metal band Queensrÿche, with who he produced five albums for between 2006 and 2013. Brougham (band)
Brougham was a short-lived hip hop/rap rock side project founded by Jason Slater and his childhood friend Luke Oakson aka Luke Sick (Sacred Hoop) in Palo Alto, California, USA. Brougham recorded an album, ''Le Cock Sportif'', for Warner Bros. Records in 2000 but the album was a commercial flop. Spin Magazine named the album title the "worst rap-rock album title" ever. One of their tracks, titled "I Walked In," appeared on the soundtrack for the 1998 in film, 1998 movie ''Can't Hardly Wait''. Brougham attempted to work on a second album during 2005 and 2006, though this was never completed. Following Jason Slater's death in 2020, the demos for the second album were released under the name ''Bateh. Bros''. on July 12, 2022, through Oakson's record label, Megakut Records. Progressive Metal
Progressive metal (sometimes shortened to prog metal) is a broad fusion music genre melding heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter. One of these experimental examples introduced to modern metal was djent. Troy Van Leeuwen
Troy Van Leeuwen (born January 5, 1970) is an American musician and record producer. He is best known as a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist in the rock band Queens of the Stone Age, with whom he has recorded four studio albums. Joining the band in 2002, he is the second-longest-serving member of the band, after founding member Josh Homme. Leeuwen is also a member of the supergroup Gone Is Gone and has fronted his own projects, Enemy and Sweethead. Charlie Clouser
Charles Alexander Clouser (born June 28, 1963) is an American keyboardist, composer, record producer, and remixer. He worked with Trent Reznor for Nine Inch Nails from 1994 to 2000, and is a composer for film and television; among his credits are the score for the ''Saw'' franchise and ''American Horror Story''. Clouser was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performance in 1997. Life and career Clouser plays keyboard, synthesizer, theremin, and drums. Eric Dodd, known professionally as Eric Valentine, is an American record producer who began his career as drummer and producer in the heavy metal band T-Ride.
