Janus (DRM)
Janus was the codename of a version of Windows Media DRM primarily for portable electronics, portable electronic device, devices, whose marketing name was Windows Media DRM for Portable Devices (or in short form WMDRM-PD). It was introduced by Microsoft in 2004 for use on portable media devices which store and access content offline. Napster To Go was the first online music store to require the Janus technology. Supporting Janus often implies that the device also makes use of Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). Janus initially required supporting devices to ''not'' support non-Microsoft audio formats such as Ogg Vorbis, but this requirement was later removed. ZEN is a series of portable media players designed and manufactured by Creative Technology Limited from 2004 to 2011. The players evolved from the Creative NOMAD, NOMAD brand through the NOMAD Jukebox series of MP3 player, music players, with the first separate "ZEN" branded models released in 2004. The last Creative Zen player, X-Fi3, was released at the end of 2011. Three Creative Zens (the Portable Media Center, Micro Photo, and Vision:M) won the Best of Consumer Electronics Show, CES award from 2004 to 2006 in their respective categories, with the latter winning the overall award. Zune
Zune was a brand of digital media products and services that was marketed by Microsoft from November 2006 until it was discontinued in June 2012. Zune consisted of a line of portable media players, a music subscription service known as Zune Music Pass plus Zune Marketplace for music, TV and movies, streaming services for the Xbox 360 game console, and the Zune Software, Zune software media player for Microsoft Windows, Windows PCs which also acted as desktop sync software for Windows Phone. Nokia N91
The Nokia N91 is a mobile phone produced by Nokia as part of their Nseries line of portable devices. It was announced on April 27, 2005 along with N70 and N90 as the first three Nseries devices. The N91 ran on Symbian-based S60 3rd Edition (the first to run on Symbian 9.1). It was the first ever phone encompassing a 4 GB internal hard drive, allowing storage for 3,000 songs (an 8 GB revision came later). The N91 is highly focused on music. with dedicated music keys on the front which slide down to reveal the keypad. It also featured the industry-standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, and was anticipated as a major challenger to Apple, whose iPod dominated the industry. The Nokia N72 is a mobile phone introduced by Nokia on April 25, 2006. It runs on Symbian OS 8.1a ( S60 2nd Edition FP2). It is effectively a re-branded Nokia N70 with a reduced feature set. It was released in June 2006. Features The N72 is based upon the cut-down N70-5 variant of the N70 but with a redesigned fascia. Windows Mobile
Windows Mobile is a discontinued mobile operating system developed by Microsoft for smartphones and personal digital assistants (PDA). Designed to be the portable equivalent of the Windows desktop OS in the emerging Mobile device, mobile/portable area, the operating system is built on top of Windows CE (later known as Windows Embedded Compact) and was originally released as Pocket PC 2000. Microsoft introduced the Pocket PC keyboard-less PDAs in 2000, with Pocket PC 2000 being the software. It was based on version 3.0 of Windows CE, the operating system originally developed for the Handheld PC in 1996.
