Janez Gorišek
Janez Gorišek (September 13, 1933 – March 21, 2023) was a Slovenian civil engineer, constructor, and architect. He held a degree from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy at the University of Ljubljana. His works were mainly constructions of ski jumping and ski flying hills worldwide; his best-known work being the Gorišek Brothers Ski Flying Hill (''Letalnica bratov Gorišek'') in Planica, Slovenia, which he developed with his brother Lado (1925–1997) and which was the world's second-largest ski flying hill. He drew the profile for the renovated Planica flying hill with the help of his son. Since 2015, the hill is again largest in the world. He also participated in the ski jumping event at the 1956 Winter Olympics. Gorišek died on March 21, 2023, at the age of 89. Oberstdorf (Low Alemannic German, Low Alemannic: ''Oberschdorf'') is a Municipalities of Germany, municipality and skiing and hiking town in Germany, located in the Allgäu region of the Bavarian Alps. Planica Nordic Centre
The Planica Nordic Centre () is a nordic skiing complex located in Planica, Slovenia. It has one ski flying hill, seven ski jumping hills, and a Cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing track. It is the only nordic centre in the world with eight ski jumping hills. The first plans for the Nordic Centre were made in 2006. Construction work began in 2011, and the complex was officially opened in December 2015. Vikersund
Vikersund is a town of 3,232 (in 2020) inhabitants in the municipality capital of Modum, in the county of Buskerud, Norway. Overview Vikersund is located 30 kilometers south of Hønefoss and 40 kilometers northwest of Drammen. The village is located at the southwestern arm of Tyrifjorden. Vikersundbakken or Vikersund Hill is a ski flying ski jumping hill, hill at Vikersund in Modum, Norway. It is one of the two largest purpose-built ski flying hills in the world. Nine list of the longest ski jumps, world records have been set there. The complex consists of a large hill, a normal hill and several training hills. The hill originally constructed by Kristian Hovde was opened in 1936 as a large hill. It was rebuilt as ski flying hill in 1964, and was modified in 1989, 1999 and 2010. Erzurum
