Jana Černochová
Jana Černochová (born 26 October 1973) is a Czech politician who has served as Ministry of Defence (Czech Republic), Minister of Defence in the Cabinet of Petr Fiala since December 2021. She has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Czech parliament since 2010, representing the Civic Democratic Party (Czech Republic), Civic Democratic Party (ODS). Early life and education Černochová graduated from high school in 1992 and began working in a bank. She later studied international relations at the Metropolitan University Prague. Early political career After joining ODS in 1997, Černochová became active in municipal politics and served as Mayor of Prague 2 from 2006 until 2010. She was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, Chamber of Deputies in the 2010 Czech parliamentary election, 2010 general election, and again in 2013 Czech parliamentary election, 2013. 2010 Czech Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in the Czech Republic on 28–29 May 2010 to elect the 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies. The elections had been expected to take place sometime before the end of 2009, but was postponed due to legal challenges. Before the election, the country had been governed by a caretaker administration headed by Jan Fischer. The Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) was the front-runner of the election and its leader Jiří Paroubek was the favourite to become the new prime minister. ČSSD came first in the election, although they suffered significant losses in seats and the popular vote. The conservative Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and TOP 09 followed in second and third, with the Communist Party finishing fourth.
