Jan Kozák
Jan Kozák (5 July 1929 – 3 October 2016) was a Czech basketball player. He was voted to the Czechoslovak 20th Century Team in 2001. National team career Withe the senior Czechoslovakia national team, Kozák competed in the men's tournament at the 1948 Summer Olympics, and the 1952 Summer Olympics. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular Basketball court, court, compete with the primary objective of #Shooting, shooting a basketball (ball), basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's Basket (basketball), hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a Backboard (basketball), backboard at each end of the court), while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. 1947 EuroBasket
The 1947 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 1947, was the fifth FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship, held by FIBA. Fourteen national teams affiliated with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) took part in the competition. Czechoslovakia hosted the contest, which was held in Prague. Results The 1947 competition consisted of a preliminary round, with two groups of four teams and two groups of three teams each. Each team played the other teams in its group once.
