Jamuna Devi
Jamuna Devi (19 November 1929 – 24 September 2010) was a leader of Indian National Congress party from Madhya Pradesh. She was a member of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and served as the leader of Opposition and deputy chief minister of the state. She was elected as Lok Sabha member from Jhabua (1962–67). She was also the member of Rajya Sabha from 1978 to 1981. Career She was member of the first assembly of the Madhya Bharat State from 1952 to 1957 then was Member of Parliament form Jhabua from 1962 to 1967 as well as Rajya Sabha Member from 1978 to 1981. She was junior minister in Governments Arjun Singh, Motilal Vora and Shyama Charan Shukla but was inducted into cabinet under Digvijaya Singh and was later promoted to Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in 1998, thus becoming first woman deputy chief minister. Digvijaya Singh
Digvijaya Singh (born 28 February 1947) is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha since 2014. He is a senior leader of the Indian National Congress and Ex-General Secretary of the Indian National Congress party's All India Congress Committee. Previously, he had served as the 14th and 15th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, a central Indian state, in two terms from 1993 to 1998 and from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that he was a minister in Chief Minister Arjun Singh's cabinet between 1980 and 1984. In 2019 Indian general election he was defeated by Pragya Singh Thakur for Bhopal Lok Sabha seat. Shyama Charan Shukla (27 February 1925 – 14 February 2007) was an Indian National Congress politician and thrice Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Personal life Shyama Charan Shukla was born on 27 February 1925 in Raipur into a Kanyakubja Brahmin family. Motilal Vora
Motilal Vora (20 December 1928 – 21 December 2020) was an Indian politician belonging to the Indian National Congress (INC). He served as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh (1985–1988; 1989). He was born in Nimbi Jodha, Jodhpur State, British India. He was also Governor of Uttar Pradesh from 1993 to 1996. Arjun Singh (5 November 1930 – 4 March 2011) was an Indian politician from the Indian National Congress, who served twice as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in the 1980s. Jhabua (Lok Sabha Constituency)
Jhabua is a town and a municipality in Jhabua district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of Jhabua District. Recently the district has got international recognition because of its endemic hen species "kadaknath". It has been granted the GI tag. History The ancestor of the family was Rao Bar Singh a.k.a. the Birji, fifth son of Jodha of Mandore of Marwar. His descendant, Kunwar Kesho Das or Kishan Das, founded Jhabua in 1584. Raja Kesho Das was first Raja of Jhabua 1584/1607. He was granted the title of Raja by the Emperor of Delhi, as a reward for a successful campaign in Bengal, and for punishing the Bhil chiefs of Jhabua who had murdered an Imperial Viceroy of Gujarat. Khushal Singh was the ruler of Jhabua in 1698, he gave much of his lands to his brothers and sons and was too weak to rule his state effectively.
