Jamie Caliri
Jamie Caliri (born February 22, 1970, in Buffalo, New York) is an American director, known primarily for music videos, television commercials and title sequences. Between 1988 and 1992, he studied film, design, and animation at the California Institute of the Arts. He is also a self-taught still photographer. He has been signed to production companies Acme Filmworks (ca. 1992–ca. 1994), Duck Soup Studios (1994–1995) and its division The Front (1995–1997), MJZ and its satellite Stimmung (1997–ca. 1999), and Windmill Lane and its subsidiary Pusher (2003–ca. 2005). He has directed commercials for Children's Medical Center (Dallas) (2010), Fruitopia (1997), KCRW (1996), Pier 1 Imports, and United Airlines (2006 and 2008), among others. In 2006, he was asked to explore animation concepts for a feature film adaptation of ''The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay''. The Cherry Poppin' Daddies are an American swing music, swing and ska band established in Eugene, Oregon, in 1989. Formed by singer-songwriter Steve Perry (Oregon musician), Steve Perry and bassist Dan Schmid, the band has experienced numerous personnel changes over the course of its 30-year history, with only Perry, Schmid and trumpeter Dana Heitman currently remaining from the original founding lineup. Black Lab
Black Lab is an alternative rock band founded by Paul Durham in Berkeley, California, and currently based in Los Angeles and Montana. They released their debut album on Geffen Records, entitled '' Your Body Above Me'', and scored two rock radio hits in the US, "Wash It Away" and "Time Ago". After leaving Geffen in 1999, the band signed to Epic Records, contributing a track to Sony's Spider-Man before leaving the label. Since 2003, the band has independently released nine full-length albums, an EP, and a live concert DVD/CD set. "Your Lucky Day in Hell" is a song by American rock band Eels, released on August 27, 1997, as the fourth single from their debut album, ''Beautiful Freak'' (1996). "Sex and Candy" is a song by American alternative rock group Marcy Playground, a single from their 1997 self-titled debut album. It is a post-grunge song with psychedelic elements. Lead singer John Wozniak was inspired to write the song after a woman told him that a room smelled like "sex and candy." The song's abstract lyrics refer to the disco era and include hippie lingo. In 1997, Wozniak said that "Sex and Candy" is an unorthodox love song; later, he said he does not know what the song means. It was released to radio on the week of September 15, 1997. Marcy Playground is an American alternative rock band consisting of three members: John Wozniak (lead vocals, guitar), Dylan Keefe (bass), and Shlomi Lavie (drums). The band is best known for their 1997 hit " Sex and Candy". History Early years The band is named after the Marcy Open School in Minneapolis, which is the alternative school John Wozniak attended. He chose the name because many of his songs were inspired by his childhood. Marcy Playground emerged in the late 1990s. The Fugees () are an American hip hop group formed in South Orange, New Jersey, in 1990.
