Jakub Dvorský (1)
Jakub Dvorský (born August 19, 1978) is a designer and video game creator from Brno, Czech Republic. In 2003, he founded Amanita Design, a small independent game developing studio based in the Czech Republic. Life and career Between 1994–1997 he was part of video game studio NoSense. He participated in development of projects ''Dračí Historie'' ("Dragon History"), ''Katapult'' ("Catapult") and ''Asmodeus: Tajemný kraj Ruthaniolu'' ("Asmodeus: Mysterious Country of Ruthaniol"). The studio was defunct in 1997. In years 1997–2003 he studied at Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. He was taught by Jiří Barta. In 2003 he established the company Amanita Design and released his first project ''Samorost'' ("Maverick"). Amanita Design was partially made from former NoSense staff. Catapult (video Game)
A catapult is a ballistic device used to launch a projectile at a great distance without the aid of gunpowder or other propellants – particularly various types of ancient and medieval siege engines. A catapult uses the sudden release of stored potential energy to propel its payload. Most convert tension or torsion energy that was more slowly and manually built up within the device before release, via springs, bows, twisted rope, elastic, or any of numerous other materials and mechanisms which allow the catapult to launch a projectile such as rocks, cannon balls, or debris. During wars in the ancient times, the catapult was usually known to be the strongest heavy weaponry. ''Phonopolis'' is an upcoming video game developed by Amanita Design. Plot Felix, an inconspicuous young man, lives in Phonopolis; a city ruled by the authoritarian Leader. He unknowingly faces a great threat with his fellow citizens. Leader created a system of amplions through which he sends subliminal commands, and with them he leads the whole society to perfection. But behind what may have been a noble pursuit of a perfect community in its seed lies slavery, and Felix realizes that the pursuit of the Absolute Tone, to which the Leader has dedicated his life, may end in disaster. So he decides to thwart all Leader's plans and make sure that the society survives in its imperfection. ''Creaks'' is a puzzle-platform game developed and published by Amanita Design. It was announced on 9 October 2018. The game was released on 10 July 2020 for iOS, macOS, and tvOS through Apple Arcade, followed by releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows on 22 July 2020. Plot ''Creaks'' begins in the bedroom of the unnamed player character, who is seen sitting at his desk when the light flickers and dies, and the wallpaper peels away to reveal a secret tunnel behind his wall. The game was released for Linux, macOS, Windows, and Apple Arcade on 6 October 2019, Nintendo Switch on 3 November 2022, and the iOS App Store and Android devices on 17 April 2024. ''Chuchel'' () is a 2018 video game developed by Amanita Design. Story The game follows the protagonist Chuchel, a Dust-style creature, as he tries to retrieve a cherry stolen by a giant one early morning, with his all-in-one best friend, enemy and pet Kekel either helping or hindering him on the way. The game is structured into short, loosely connected episodes of Chuchel's struggles to retrieve and keep the cherry; the episodic nature is emphasized by some levels showing the title. In the last level, it is revealed that the giant hand teasing Chuchel with the cherry is in fact a larger Chuchel-style creature named Chrchel; it swallows Chuchel and Kekel who retrieve the cherry from its stomach, and climb up to its brain to switch it from "grumpy" to "happy".
