San Luis Potosí, officially the Free and Sovereign State of San Luis Potosí, is one of the 32 states which compose the Federal Entities of Mexico. It is divided in 59 municipalities and is named after its capital city, San Luis Potosí. 2020–21 Liga De Expansión MX Season
The 2020–21 Liga de Expansión MX season is the first professional season of the second-tier football division in Mexico. The season is divided into two championships—the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura—each in an identical format and each contested by the same sixteen teams. The Apertura tournament started on 18 August 2020 and concluded on 20 December 2020. The Clausura tournament started on 12 January 2021 and will conclude in May 2021. The 2017 Campeón de Campeones was the 45th edition of the Campeón de Campeones, an annual football super cup match, and the 44th held in the professional era of Mexican football. It was played on 16 July 2017 between Apertura 2016 winners Tigres UANL and Clausura 2017 winners Guadalajara. Like the previous editions, the 2017 Campeón de Campeones was contested in a single-leg format at a neutral venue in the United States. This year's match took place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California for the second straight year. The 2017 Campeón de Campeones was part of a doubleheader, which also includes the 2017 Supercopa MX, organized by Univision Deportes, Soccer United Marketing (SUM), Liga MX and LA Galaxy. Leagues Cup
The Leagues Cup is an annual soccer competition between clubs from Major League Soccer (MLS), the main soccer league in the United States, and Liga MX, the main soccer league in Mexico. It is hosted in Canada and the United States. It began in July 2019 with four teams from both leagues participating. The first edition was a single-elimination tournament hosted in the United States with a final played in Whitney, Nevada, near Las Vegas, on September 18, 2019. In 2023, the tournament was expanded to include all clubs from MLS and Liga MX, and now functions as a regional cup for CONCACAF between the top division leagues in Mexico and United States, and includes MLS teams that are based in Canada. The top three Leagues Cup teams, regardless of nation, qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup, with the champions receiving a bye to the round of 16.
