Mollendo
Mollendo is a town on the Pacific Ocean in southern Peru. It is located in the Arequipa Region and is the capital of both the Islay Province and the Mollendo District. Mollendo was the main port on the Peruvian southern coast until Matarani was developed around the mid-20th century; the port of Mollendo serves fishermen for the local economy and all the commercial shipping is done through Matarani, 12 km to the north, as the old port is in ruins. From about 1830 to 1880 it was a key port in the guano trade. A railroad used to run passenger trains daily, but a developed highway connects Mollendo to the Panamerican Highway, with the train now only running as a summer express from Arequipa, on Saturday, returning Sunday. The local beaches are the main attraction in the area, even though it is visited by the Humboldt Current that brings cold water from Antarctica. Cusco Fútbol Club (known as ''Real Garcilaso'' until 2019), commonly known as Cusco, or Cusco FC, is a Peruvian professional football club based in the city of Cusco, that currently competes in the Peruvian Primera División, the top tier of Peruvian football. It was founded on 28 August, 2008 as Real Garcilaso, changing their name to Cusco FC in 2019. Cusco were runner-up of the Primera División three times in 2012, 2013, and 2017, and won the Segunda División in 2022, getting promoted after being relegated in 2021. They also won the Copa Perú in 2011. Cusco became one of the fastest clubs in Peru to reach the Primera División, doing so in only two years after its founding. The 2007 Campeonato Sudamericano Copa América, known simply as the 2007 Copa América or 2007 Copa América Venezuela, was the 42nd edition of the Copa América, the South-American championship for international association football teams. The competition was organized by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body, and was held between 26 June and 15 July in Venezuela, which hosted the tournament for the first time. The competition was won by Brazil (they were also the defending champions), who beat Argentina 3–0 in the final. Mexico took third place by beating Uruguay 3–1 in the third-place match. Julio César Uribe Flores (born May 9, 1958) is a Peruvian football manager and former player who played as an attacking midfielder or a second striker. Playing career Club Uribe started his career with Peruvian club Sporting Cristal. Then he joined Italian club Cagliari Calcio for three seasons.
