Jahurul Islam (cricketer)
Mohammad Jahurul Islam Omi (, born 12 December 1986) is a Bangladeshi international cricketer. He played Test, One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket for Bangladesh between 2010 and 2013. Career Jahurul Islam made his debut for Rajshahi Division in 2002/03 playing through the 2006/07 season. He also played for Bangladesh A in 2004, scoring 87 against England A. A right-handed batsman and occasional off-break bowler and wicket keeper. He is sometimes referred to on scoresheets by his nickname Aumi. He has scored two first-class centuries for his state, with a best of 139 against Barisal Division. He scored 71 against Dhaka Division in the one day game. He was the leading run-scorer for Gazi Group Cricketers in the 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, with 401 runs in 14 matches. The Bangladesh Premier League 2019–20, also known as BPL Season 7 or Bangabandhu BPL Presented by AKASH DTH and Powered by TVS (for sponsorship reasons), was the seventh season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh. Rangpur Rangers
Rangpur Riders (), is a professional franchise cricket team based in Rangpur. The Riders compete in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the premier cricket league in Bangladesh. This team took part in 2024 Global Super League and became the champion gaining their maiden title. Although the ownership of the team changed multiple times, the team structure has stayed at its original form since the foundation of the team. In the 5th edition of BPL, they defeated Dhaka Dynamites in the finals to win their first title. On 16 November 2019, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced Incepta Pharmaceuticals as the sponsor of the team, and it was renamed to Rangpur Rangers. The 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was an edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It was the sixth edition of the tournament with List A status, although almost 35 seasons have been played before achieving the status. It started on 8 March, and concluded on 23 April 2019. Directly before the List A tournament started, the inaugural edition of the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League took place, featuring the same twelve teams. Abahani Limited were the defending champions. They won the tournament, finishing ahead of Legends of Rupganj on net run rate. Abahani Limited Cricket Team
Abahani Limited cricket team has played List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier League since 2013–14. It has won the title in 2015–16, 2017–18, 2018–19, 2022–23 and 2023–24. In Twenty20 cricket, it also won the 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League. History Abahani Limited was founded by Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding president of Bangladesh. The club has always had close ties with the Awami League.
