Jacques Bonsergent (Paris Métro)
Jacques Bonsergent () is a metro station, station of the Paris Métro, serving Paris Métro Line 5, line 5 and located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. History The station was opened on 17 December 1906 as the northern terminus of Line 5 from Place d'Italie (Paris Métro), Place d'Italie, replacing the temporary terminus of Quai de la Rapée (Paris Métro), Quai de la Rapée, before the line was extended to Gare du Nord on 15 November 1907. The stations original name of Lancry is after proximity to the Rue de Lancry and its former local owner, Sieur Lancry. The station kept that name until 1946. The current name refers to the Place Jacques Bonsergent, named after Jacques Bonsergent, an engineer who became the first Parisian (and possibly first French) civilian executed by the German occupation in 1940. 10th Arrondissement Of Paris
The 10th arrondissement of Paris (''Xe arrondissement'') is one of the 20 Arrondissements of Paris, arrondissements of the capital city of France. In spoken French, the arrondissement is referred to as ''le dixième'' (; "the tenth", formally ''le dixième arrondissement de Paris''). In 2020, it had a population of 83,459. The arrondissement, called Entrepôt (warehouse), is situated on the Rive Droite, right bank of the Seine, River Seine. It contains two of the seven large mainline List of Paris railway stations, railway stations of Paris: the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l'Est. Built during the 19th century, these two Terminal station, termini are among the List of busiest railway stations in Europe, busiest in Europe. The 10th arrondissement also contains a large portion of the Canal Saint-Martin, linking the northeastern parts of Paris with the Seine. Bois De Vincennes
The Bois de Vincennes (), located on the eastern edge of Paris, France, is the largest public park in the city. It was created between 1855 and 1866 by Emperor Napoleon III. The park is next to the Château de Vincennes, a former residence of the Kings of France. It contains an English landscape garden with four lakes; a Paris Zoological Park, zoo; an Arboretum de l'École du Breuil, arboretum; a Parc floral de Paris, botanical garden; a hippodrome or horse-racing track; a Vélodrome de Vincennes, velodrome for bicycle races; and the campus of the French national institute of sports and physical education. The park is known for prostitution after dark.
