Jack Hetherington
Jack Hetherington (born 8 June 1996) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a and forward for the Newcastle Knights in the National Rugby League (NRL). He previously played for the Penrith Panthers, New Zealand Warriors and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the NRL. Background Hetherington was born in Canberra, ACT, Australia. He is the grandson of Bill Mullins, son of Brett Hetherington, nephew of Brett Mullins and cousin of Canberra Raiders player James Schiller. Hetherington played his junior rugby league for the Valentine Devils and Young Cherrypickers. Playing career 2018 & 2019 In 2018, he made his National Rugby League début for Penrith against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. The 2022 NRL season is the 115th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 25th season run by the National Rugby League. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 16th consecutive year. This became the second longest stretch of time (after 1947-1966 - 20 seasons) of a continuous line-up of teams in competition history (overtaking 1967-1981 - 15 seasons). Pre-season Pre-season matches were played between 12 February and 28 February 2022, before a 10-day lead up until the beginning of the regular season. It featured nineteen matches across three weekends, including the 2022 All Stars match, which was won by the Māori All Stars 16 – 10, and the annual Charity Shield match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons, which the Dragons won 16–10. Wests Tigers
The Wests Tigers are an Australian professional rugby league football team, based in the Inner West and South West Sydney. They have competed in the National Rugby League since being formed at the end of the 1999 NRL season as a joint-venture club between the Balmain Tigers and the Western Suburbs Magpies. The Wests Tigers started playing in the 2000 NRL season and they won their maiden premiership in 2005. It is one of only two clubs (the other being the Newcastle Knights) that has never lost a Grand Final in which it has participated. The club also won the World Sevens in 2004.
