Jaak Kärner
Jaak Kärner (22 March 1892 – 22 July 1937) was an Estonian sport shooter from Tartu. Kärner participated in World War I and the Estonian War of Independence. He won three medals at the ISSF World Shooting Championships. From 1932 to 1936 he was a member of the Estonian national sport shooting team. Tartu
Tartu is the second largest city in Estonia after Tallinn. Tartu has a population of 97,759 (as of 2024). It is southeast of Tallinn and 245 kilometres (152 miles) northeast of Riga, Latvia. Estonian War Of Independence
The Estonian War of Independence, also known as the War of Freedom in Estonia, was a defensive campaign of the Estonian Army and its allies, most notably the United Kingdom, against the Soviet Russian westward offensive of 1918–1919 and the 1919 aggression of the pro–German '' Baltische Landeswehr''. The campaign was the struggle of the newly established democratic state of Estonia for independence in the aftermath of World War I. It resulted in a victory for Estonia and was concluded in the 1920 Treaty of Tartu.
