Jagatjit Cotton & Textile Football Club (formerly known as JCT Mills FC; abbreviated as JCT FC, or simply JCT) is an Indian association football, football academy based in Phagwara, Punjab, India, Punjab. Founded in 1971, the club was sponsored by JCT Limited, Jagatjit Cotton and Textile Mills under the leadership of Samir Thapar and participated in the National Football League (India), National Football League which was later rebranded as I-League. The club currently participates in Punjab State Super Football League after disbanding their senior squad in 2011. Nicknamed "The Millmen", JCT have won many tournaments and brought laurels to the State of Punjab. They won the inaugural edition of the National Football League (India), National Football League in 1996. Inder Singh (footballer)
Inder Singh (born 23 December 1943) is an Indian former football player and captain, manager and administrator. He played for Leaders Club of Jalandhar, JCT Mills, and the India national team, predominantly as a forward. He began his senior professional career with Leaders Club in 1962 and moved to JCT Mills in 1974. Playing for Punjab in the Santosh Trophy, he finished the 1974–75 tournament with 23 goals, a record that still stands. He was included in the AFC Asian All Stars team in 1968. He retired as a player in 1985. He had a successful managerial career with Mills from 1985 to 2001, following which he was associated with Mills as an administrator from 2001 to 2011. In 1969, he received the Arjuna Award, in recognition of his contribution to Indian football. Nicknamed "bullet train" by the Japanese for his speed on football field, Singh stuck to his roots and played for the country, declining the offer of representing Malaysia in 1973. Al-Karkh SC
Al-Karkh Sports Club () is an Iraqi sports club based in Karkh, Baghdad. Its professional football team plays in the Iraq Stars League, the top tier of the Iraqi football. The club's home stadium is Al-Saher Ahmed Radhi Stadium. Founded in 1963, Al-Karkh was not successful in reaching the top flight of Iraqi football until Al-Rasheed SC's properties and place in the top division were transferred to Al-Karkh when Al-Rasheed were dissolved in 1990. Iraqi Premier League
The Iraq Stars League (), is the highest level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraqi Premier Division League. It is governed by the Iraqi Pro League Association. The league was formed by the Iraq Football Association in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs League, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq, and later became known as the Iraqi Premier League. In 2023, the competition was rebranded as the Iraq Stars League and transitioned into a fully professional competition. The current format sees 20 teams playing 38 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away), totalling 380 matches in the season. Indian Federation Cup
The Federation Cup was an annual knockout football competition and the premier cup competition in men's domestic Indian football until 2017. Established in 1977, it was organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The Federation Cup was eventually replaced by the Super Cup from the 2018 season. Bengaluru were the last champions, having defeated Mohun Bagan 2–0 in the 2017 final. The Malaysia Premier League () was the second-tier professional football league in Malaysia. It replaced the Liga Perdana 2 in the Malaysian football league system. Sukhwinder Singh (football Manager)
Sukhwinder Singh is an Indian football manager and a former international footballer. He was the coach of the India U-23 side and formerly of the Pailan Arrows of the I-League. After completing his coaching course from National Institute of Sports in Patiala, Singh was appointed chief coach of JCT on 1 July 1992. He also served as deputy general manager and joint secretary of the Phagwara-based club. In 2020, Singh became the third Indian to receive Major Dhyan Chand Award.
