Israel Abuhatzeira ( he, ר׳ יִשְׂרָאֵל אַבּוּחַצִירָא), known as the Baba Sali ( ar, بابا صلى, he, בַּאבָּא סָאלִי, lit. "Praying Father") (1889–1984) was a leading Morocco, Moroccan Sephardic rabbi and Kabbalah, kabbalist who was renowned for his alleged ability to work miracles through his prayers. His burial place in Netivot, Israel has become a shrine for prayers and petitioners. Early life and family Israel Abuhatzeira was born on Rosh Hashanah 5650 (1889). He was the scion of the distinguished Abuhatzeira, Abu Hasira/Abuhatzeira family of Sephardi Jews, Sephardic Talmid Chacham, Torah scholars and tzadikim who were also known as ''baalei mofet'' (miracle workers). He is the grandson of Yaakov Abuhatzeira. The patriarch of this family was Shmuel Abuhatzeira. Baba Baruch
Baruch Abuhatzeira ( he, ברוך אבוחצירא; born 1941), also known as Baba Baruch, is a Morocco, Moroccan-Israeli Kabbalist rabbi and spiritual adviser who operates in Netivot, a blue-collar town in southern Israel. He is the son of the leading Moroccan rabbi Israel Abuhatzeira, also known as the Baba Sali,The Shaping of Israeli Identity: Myth, Memory and Trauma. Robert Wistrich, David Ohana (ed.) p. 224-226 and thus scion of the Abuhatzeira, Abu Hasira/Abuhatzeira family. Baruch was born in Arfoud in the Tafilalt region in eastern Morocco. There, he was educated by his father. During his youth Baruch spent several years in Paris. In the mid-1960s, Baruch emigrated to Israel with his father, and he decided to pursue a political career. He was elected deputy mayor in Ashkelon, and served on the city council as the leader of the local MAFDAL (National-Religious Party) faction.
