ISFiT - The International Student Festival in Trondheim, Norway is allegedly the world's largest student festival with a thematic emphasis. Approximately 450 students from all over the world attend the festival. The themes change with each festival, but have always been related to social and political topics with international relevance. The stated purpose of ISFiT is to be ''a meeting place for discussion and debate, an arena where ideas are born, friendships are made and valuable lessons are learned.'' Olavshallen ( en, Olav Hall or Olav Concert Hall) was built in 1989 as a concert hall and is named after a historical tradition in Trondheim, Norway, the St. Olav tradition. The foundation stone was laid by HM King Olav V 22 July 1988. Olavshallen opened for its first concert 17 September 1989 with jazz pianist Oscar Peterson and the official opening was held on 21 September. Olavshallen consists of two concert rooms - a main auditorium, the Large Hall has a seating capacity of 1240 and Little Hall with a capacity of 350 spectators. Duško Kostić is founder and president of the "Association of Roma Friendship", Luna. He comes from Beli Manastir in eastern Croatia, and studies at the University of Osijek. On 25 November 2010 it was announced that Duško Kostić will receive the Student Peace Prize for 2011, for his work concerning the Roma people’s rights. Student Society In Trondheim
The Student Society in Trondheim ( no, Studentersamfundet i Trondhjem, Samfundet for short) is Norway's largest student society. Besides housing a café, a restaurant, several bars and frequently hosting concerts and other activities (among them Norway's biggest culture festival, UKA), it is an independent organization for all students and teachers in Trondheim, owned fully by its members. (At the end of 2011, there are about 9000 members.) Many famous artists have held concerts here. Among others, Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, N.E.R.D., Phoenix, Public Enemy, White Lies, Crystal Fighters, Tom McRae, Motörhead, Suede, Motorpsycho, Dum Dum Boys, In Flames and many, many more.
