Irish Freedom Party
The Irish Freedom Party or the Irexit Freedom To Prosper Party, sometimes referred to as IFP, or IFTPP is a minor right-wing to far-right hard Eurosceptic political party in Ireland, launched on 8 September 2018. It advocates Irish withdrawal from the European Union. The party president is Hermann Kelly, former Director of Communications for Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy (EFDD). The party chairperson is architect Michael Leahy. The party has no representation at local or national level. History Formation On 3 February 2018 an 'Irexit' conference was held in the RDS in Dublin, advocating an Irish withdrawal from the European Union. It was attended by former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, author and columnist John Waters and academics Anthony Coughlan and Karen Devine. Approximately 600 people attended. Hermann Kelly
Hermann Patrick Kelly (born 1968) is an Irish political candidate and former journalist. In September 2018 he assisted in founding the far-right Irish Freedom Party, and is now president of the party. As of late 2021, Kelly was press officer for Romanian politician Cristian Terheș. Early life and education Kelly was born on Christmas Day, 1968 and is originally from the Bogside in Derry. His father was a headmaster of a primary school in Creggan, his mother was a nurse and he has three siblings. His Secondary education was at St Columb's College, Derry. He then studied marine biology in Edinburgh before studying theology as a lay student at St. Patrick's College, Maynooth. He briefly worked as a teacher in Dublin. Raheen () is a large suburb of Limerick, Ireland. Initially developed to ease population overspill from the city of Limerick, Raheen is socioeconomically diverse, ranging from older, poor class housing estates to relatively affluent areas. History The oldest parts of the area were built in the 1960s and 1970s. In the following years, Raheen and neighbouring Dooradoyle both experienced growth, particularly during the Celtic Tiger. Renua Ireland, commonly called Renua, is a fringe political party in Ireland. The party was launched on 13 March 2015, with former Fine Gael TD Lucinda Creighton as founding leader. Prior to its launch it had used the slogan Reboot Ireland. The name ''Renua'' is intended to suggest both the English ''Renew'' and the Irish ''Ré Nua'' "New Era". Renua was founded primarily by former members of Fine Gael who left that party because they refused to endorse Fine Gael's pro-abortion stance. Monaghan
Monaghan ( ; ) is the county town of County Monaghan, Ireland. It also provides the name of its civil parish and barony. The population of the town as of the 2016 census was 7,678. The town is on the N2 road from Dublin to Derry and Letterkenny. Oughterard
Oughterard () is a small town on the banks of the Owenriff River close to the western shore of Lough Corrib in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. The population of the town in 2016 was 1,318. It is located about northwest of Galway on the N59 road. Oughterard is the chief angling centre on Lough Corrib. Places of interest Three kilometres outside the town stand the ruins of Aughnanure Castle, a well-preserved example of a medieval tower house. Richard Boyd Barrett (born 6 February 1967) is an Irish People Before Profit/Solidarity politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dún Laoghaire constituency since the 2011 general election. People Before Profit ( ga, Pobal Roimh Bhrabús, PBP) is a left-wing to far-left Trotskyist political party formed in October 2005. It is active in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. History PBP was established in 2005 as the People Before Profit Alliance by members of the Socialist Workers Party (SWP), a Trotskyist organisation affiliated to the International Socialist Tendency (IST).
