Alexandru Iacob (born 14 April 1989) is a Romanian footballer who plays as a centre back for Liga I club CS Mioveni. Career Iacob attended the Iancu de Hunedoara National College in his native city, Hunedoara, graduating in 2007. He began his football career playing at Corvinul Hunedoara youngsters. In 2005, he moved to the senior team, where he played 41 games and scored a goal. Iacob is also the captain of U-17 Romania national football team. In 2007, he signed with Steaua București. Caius Iacob
Caius Iacob (March 29, 1912 – February 6, 1992) was a Romanian mathematician, professor at the University of Bucharest, and titular member of the Romanian Academy. After the fall of communism in 1989, he was elected to the Senate of Romania. Biography He was born in Arad, the son of and Camelia, née Moldovan. His father was professor of Canon Law and served as delegate for Arad at the Great National Assembly of Alba Iulia of 1 December 1918. Caius Iacob attended the Moise Nicoară High School in his native city, and then completed his secondary education at the Emanuil Gojdu High School in Oradea. After passing his baccalaureate examination with the highest mark in the nation, he was admitted in 1928 at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Bucharest, from where he graduated in 1931, aged nineteen. Iacob Dimitrie Felix (January 6, 1832–January 19, 1905) was an Imperial Austrian-born Romanian physician and hygienist. Biography Born in Horschitz (''Hořice''), in the Kingdom of Bohemia, he graduated from high school in Prague and enrolled in the medical faculty of Vienna University. Iacob Melcon Iacobovici (November 18, 1879 – October 9, 1959) was a Romanian surgeon. Biography Origins and early career Born in Costești, Botoșani County, his family were peasants of Armenian origin who had arrived in the Moldavia region over a century earlier. His parents Melcon and Roza were poor, which meant that their son struggled materially as he passed through A. T. Laurian High School in Botoșani and the University of Bucharest's medical faculty. He graduated from the latter institution in 1905 with a thesis on fetal arteriology that he defended before professors Paul Petrini, Thoma Ionescu, Dimitrie Gerota, Anastasie Obregia and Dimitrie Drăghicescu. Monica Maria Iacob Ridzi (born 30 June 1977 in Petroşani) is a Romanian politician. She was the head of the youth wing of the Democratic Liberal Party, and a representative in the Chamber of Deputies of Romania since 2008. She is a former member of the Boc cabinet, and was a Member of the European Parliament during 2007–2008. In February 2015, she received a 5-year prison sentence for abuse of office in relation to the 2009 Youth Day. On December 3, 2015, President Klaus Iohannis rejected Ridzi's pardon plea. In December 2017, she was released from prison, after spending nearly three years incarcerated. Iacob Heraclid (or Eraclid; el, Ἰάκωβος Ἡρακλείδης; 1527 – November 5, 1563), born Basilicò and also known as Iacobus Heraclides, Heraclid Despotul, or Despot Vodă ("Despot the Voivode"), was a Greek Maltese soldier, adventurer and intellectual, who reigned as Prince of Moldavia from November 1561 to November 1563.
