I Mother Earth, or IME, is a Canadians, Canadian rock band. The band formed in 1990 and reached its peak in popularity in the mid-to-late 1990s. After an eight-year hiatus, the band reunited in 2012. Between 1996 and 2016, I Mother Earth was among the top 150 selling Canadian artists in Canada and among the top 40 selling Canadian bands in Canada. ''Dig'' is the debut album by the Canadian rock band I Mother Earth, released by Capitol and EMI on August 10, 1993. The album was certified Gold in Canada in its initial run, and stands at platinum today. It also won a Juno Award in 1994 for ''Best Hard Rock Album''. The album was noted for its metallic sound, balanced with psychedelic-style lyrics and instrumentals, and further backed by Latin percussion. The latter two were often brought into play during lengthy jam sessions. Christian Tanna
Christian Tanna is a Canadian drummer and music event organizer based in Peterborough, Ontario. He is best known for his work with the band I Mother Earth. Early life Tanna was born Christian Koshowski in Hamilton, Ontario. His family moved to Peterborough when he was in elementary school. Tanna began playing drums in high school. Career Tanna, along with his brother, Jagori Tanna, and vocalist Edwin, formed I Mother Earth in 1990. Tanna played on 1993's ''Dig''; in 1994 the band won a Juno Award for Best Rock Album. Tanna also drummed on the band's 1996's double platinum album ''Scenery and Fish'', 1999's '' Blue Green Orange'', and 2003's '' The Quicksilver Meat Dream''. He wrote all of I Mother Earth's lyrics. Brian Byrne
Brian Byrne (born January 13, 1975) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. He was the second vocalist for the band I Mother Earth. Biography Brian joined his first band in Corner Brook in 1988, a hair-metal band called Pandemonium. The band also featured John Kennedy, Rick Waterman, Todd Cook, and the late Kris Waterman, who selected the 13-year-old Byrne as the lead singer for the band. Byrne lived in Steady Brook and Toronto in the early 1990s, where he worked at different times as cook, dishwasher, bartender, night cleaner, office worker, ski instructor, and rock climbing instructor. He fronted bands such as Mess and Klaven (the latter with Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace) before eventually joining rock band I Mother Earth in 1997. Rush (band)
Rush was a Canadian rock band formed in 1968 in Toronto, that was comprised primarily of Geddy Lee (bass, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar), and Neil Peart (drums, percussion, lyricist). The band formed in Toronto in 1968 by Lifeson, drummer John Rutsey, and bass guitarist/vocalist Jeff Jones, who was immediately replaced by Lee. After Lee joined, the band went through several lineup configurations before arriving at its classic power trio lineup with the addition of Peart in July 1974, who replaced Rutsey four months after the release of their 1974 self-titled debut album; this lineup remained intact for the remainder of the band's career. Luis Conte (born 16 November 1954) is a Cuban percussionist best-known for his performances in the bands of artists including James Taylor, Madonna, Pat Metheny Group, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart and Shakira. He began his music career as a studio musician for Latin Jazz acts like Caldera. Conte's live performance and touring career took off when he joined Madonna's touring band in the 1980s. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Mike Clink is an American record producer. He began his career as an engineer at Record Plant Studios, recording such bands as Whitesnake, Triumph, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Megadeth, UFO (including ''Strangers in the Night''), Jefferson Starship, The Babys, Heart, Eddie Money, and many others. Career Clink began producing in 1986.
