Ayhan Işık (born Ayhan Işıyan; 5 May 1929 – 16 June 1979) was one of the pioneers of Turkish cinema and actors in Turkey, and among the most famous Turkish people, Turkish leading actors in the 1950s and 1960s. Biography Ayhan Işık was born Ayhan Işıyan on 5 May 1929 in the Konak, İzmir, Konak district of İzmir. He was the youngest of six children. He lost his father when he was just six years old. Fikri Işık MP (born 13 September 1965) is a Turkish politician who served as the last Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey from 2017 to 2018. Previously, he served as Minister of Science, Industry and Technology from 2013 to 2016 and Minister of National Defense from 2016 to 2017. He is a Member of Parliament representing the Kocaeli Province on behalf of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), from 2007 to 2023. Before politics, Işık was an educator. Hasan Esat Işık (21 October 1916 – 2 July 1989) was a Turkish diplomat and politician. Biography Hasan Esat Işık was born in Istanbul. His father was Mehmet Esat, a well known physician. After graduating from Galatasaray High School and Ankara University Faculty of Law, he held various positions in Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served as the Permanent Representative of the European Office in Geneva in 1952, and as Ambassador to Brussels, Moscow and Paris from 1962 to 1973. Nejla Işık is a Turkish environmental activist and community leader who has been involved in efforts to prevent deforestation in the Akbelen Forest. She was elected as the mukhtar of İkizköy in 2024 and was recognized internationally for her role in environmental advocacy. Huseyin Hilmi Işık (March 8, 1911 – October 26, 2001) was a Turkish, Sunni Islamic scholar. Life Hüseyn Hilmi Işık was born in Eyüp, Istanbul. He received religious education from mujtahid Abdulhakim Arvasi. He learned ma'qûl, manqûl, usûl and furû' as it relates to fiqh, tafsîr and hadîth. Hüseyn Hilmi Efendi was graduated with the Ijâzat-ı Mutlaqa (Certificate of Absolute Authority) for religious instruction in 1953. Hüseyin Hilmi was educated in science and religion. Mehmet Esat Işık
Mehmet Esat Işık (3 April 1865–1 November 1936) was a Turkish physician and politician, known for his contribution in the development of ophthalmology in his home country. Biography Mehmet Esat was born in Istanbul on 3 April 1865. His mother was the daughter of Ağa Yusuf Pasha who served as the grand vizier. He was educated at the military medical academy and received his specialty training in medicine in France graduating from the University of Paris. After attending medical schools in Germany and Austria he returned to the Ottoman Empire in 1894 and established the first ophthalmic clinic in the country. Mehmet Esat supported the national independence movement led by Mustafa Kemal. He was exiled by the British to Malta on 16 March 1920 and was freed in October 1921. Then he settled in Ankara where he established an ophthalmic clinic. He worked at the Istanbul University's Faculty of Medicine between 1931 and 1933. Sebahattin Işık Koşaner (born 5 December 1945) is a Turkish former army general who served as the 27th Chief of the General Staff from 2010 to 2011. Volkan Işık (born 11 September 1967) is a Turkish rally driver. He drove in the World Rally Championship in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
