Isadore Sparber (March 7, 1906 - August 29, 1958) was an American storyboard artist, writer, director and producer of animated films. He is best known for his work with Fleischer Studios and its successor, Famous Studios. When credited, his work appeared under varying versions of his name, including "Izzy Sparber," "I. Sparber," "Irving Sparber," and "Isidore Sparber" or "Isadore Sparber." Career Sparber worked for Fleischer Studios in the 1930s and early 1940s where much of his early work was uncredited. Isadore "Corporal Izzy" Schwartz (July 23, 1900 – July 8, 1988) was an American boxer, who became recognized as the New York Boxing Commission's World Flyweight Champion from 1927 to 1929. Israel George "Izzy" Levene (May 1, 1885 – November 12, 1930) was an American college football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Tennessee from 1907 to 1909 and at Wake Forest University in 1922, compiling a career record of 18–15–5. Player career Levene played college football at the University of Pennsylvania, and was named an All-American in 1905 and 1906. In 1905, Penn went 12–0–1. Isidoro León Becerra (January 4, 1911 – July 25, 2002) was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1945. The 34-year-old rookie was a native of Cruces, Cuba. León is one of many ballplayers who only appeared in the major leagues during World War II. He made his major league debut on June 21, 1945, in a home game against the Brooklyn Dodgers at Shibe Park. Isadore Gomez (died June 21, 1944, in Alameda, California, at the age of 68) was a Portuguese immigrant, chef and restaurateur in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, California. In 1943, he was recognized by ''LIFE'' magazine as one of San Francisco's more colorful characters. Gomez left his home in Portugal when he was 18 and made his way to San Francisco.
