''Miss Iza'' (Hungarian: ''Iza néni'') is a 1933 Hungarian comedy film directed by Istvan Szekeley and starring Sári Fedák, Pál Jávor and Ella Gombaszögi. It was shot at the Hunnia Studios in Budapest. The film's sets were designed by the art director Márton Vincze. Steve Sekely
Steve Sekely (February 25, 1899 – March 9, 1979) was a Hungarian Jewish film director. Born István Székely, he was known by several names, based on his changing professional and immigration status, including Stefan Szekely. He directed films in Hungarian, German, and English. Biography He worked as a newspaper journalist in Germany, before returning to Hungary in the early 1930s. He directed one of the most famous classic Hungarian films, the frequently revived comedy ''Hyppolit, a lakáj'' (1931). That film was remade in 2000 and the original was later digitally restored and released on DVD. Sekely left pre-war Hungary, fleeing growing fascism and laws restricting rights and professional opportunities for Jews. Oscar Beregi Sr
Oscar Beregi (born Oszkár Berger, 24 January 1876 – 18 October 1965) was a Hungarian-Jewish actor who appeared primarily in German films. Biography Beregi was born in Budapest, Austria-Hungary. He acted onstage in Hungary for 21 years. His son, Oscar Beregi Jr., was also an actor. In April 1920, as "the only Jewish actor of prominence" acting with the Budapest National Theatre, he was the subject of a demonstration that led to the group's changing its program and presenting a play in which Beregi did not participate. In the early 1920s, Beregi was exiled from Hungary because of his "alleged political activities". During the exile he acted in Vienna for four years. He served as president of the Film Actors' Association of Vienna. In 1925 he arrived to Hollywood and stayed there for four years. During that time the actor was filmed in several silent pictures. Charles Puffy
Charles Puffy (born Károly Hochstein; 3 November 1884 – 1942 or 1943) was a Hungarian film actor. Biography Hochstein appeared in more than 130 films between 1914 and 1938. He was the only slapstick star in Hungary's silent film era, appearing under the name "Pufi" (meaning "Fatty" in Hungarian, referring to his weight) and Carlie Puffy in the United States for Universal Studios. His other stage names were Károly Huszár or Pufi Huszár. Besides his work on films, he frequently appeared on stage, mostly in comical roles. Vilmos Komlós (1893–1959) was a Hungarian stage and film actor. Sándor Radó (1891–1944) was a Hungarian stage actor, stage and film actor. He established himself as an actor after making his debut in 1908, settling Budapest and appearing at many venues. He was part of the Budapest cabaret scene. Between 1927 and 1937 he appeared occasionally in films.
