Iván Rodríguez Traverzo
Iván Ariel Rodríguez Traverso (born September 29, 1975) is a Puerto Rican politician who served as a Member of the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico. He represented the 16th Representative District, composed of the towns of Isabela, San Sebastian, and Las Marías. Traverzo is affiliated with the pro-statehood New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico (NPP). Traverso first ran for office at the 2004 elections, but he lost to the opposing candidate. However, on the 2008 elections, he ran again and won. He was expelled from the House of Representatives on December 10, 2010, after accusations of bribery, becoming only the fourth legislator to be expelled from the Puerto Rico Legislative assembly. The House of Representatives of Puerto Rico () is the lower house of the Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico, the bicameral territorial legislature of Puerto Rico. The House, together with the Senate, control the legislative branch of the government of Puerto Rico. The structure and responsibilities of the House are defined in Article III of the Constitution of Puerto Rico, which vests all legislative power in the Legislative Assembly. General elections were held in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. After a count by the State Commission of Elections, the winner was inaugurated to a four-year term as Governor of Puerto Rico on January 2, 2005. An arrest warrant is a warrant issued by a judge or magistrate on behalf of the state which authorizes the arrest and detention of an individual or the search and seizure of an individual's property. Nicolás Nogueras Cartagena (July 5, 1935 – September 28, 2019) was a Puerto Rican people, Puerto Rican politician, commentator and senator. He was a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico for two separate periods of time. First from 1973 to 1985, and then from 1992 to 1996. Puerto Rican General Election, 2008
General elections were held in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, to elect the officials of the government that would serve for the next four years, most notably the Governor of Puerto Rico. The gubernatorial election was won by incumbent Resident Commissioner Luis Fortuño of the New Progressive Party (PNP), who defeated incumbent governor Aníbal Acevedo Vilá of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) by 53% to 41%. Most other positions were won by PNP candidates, with Pedro Pierluisi winning the election for Resident Commissioner, and the party winning a majority of seats in the Senate and the House of Representatives.
