Iván Márquez (footballer)
Iván Márquez Álvarez (born 9 June 1994) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a central defender for German club 1. FC Nürnberg. Career Márquez was born in Marbella, Málaga, Andalusia, and represented Málaga CF as a youth. He made his debut for the reserves on 13 October 2013, coming on as a late substitute in a 1–2 Tercera División away loss against Linares Deportivo. Rarely used by Málaga, Márquez subsequently served loan stints at UD San Pedro and CD El Palo, the latter in Segunda División B. On 23 June 2015, he joined another reserve team, Atlético Madrid B in the fourth tier. On 28 July 2016, Márquez moved to CA Osasuna, being assigned to the reserves in the third division. He made his first team debut on 30 November, starting in a 1–0 away loss against Granada CF, for the season's Copa del Rey. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time. 2020 Polish Super Cup
The 2020 Polish Super Cup was the 30th Polish Super Cup, an annual Polish football match played between the reigning winners of the Ekstraklasa and Polish Cup. This season Ekstraklasa champion Legia Warsaw met Polish Cup champion Cracovia. The match originally scheduled on 9 August 2020 was finally held on 9 October 2020 at the Stadion Wojska Polskiego in Warsaw – the home of the Ekstraklasa champions Legia. On 8 August 2020, the Polish Football Association announced that the match was canceled due to suspicion of COVID-19 in one member of the medical staff of Legia Warsaw. On 18 September 2020 Polish Football Association announced a new SuperCup match date on 9 October 2020. Cracovia played their first ever Super Cup match, while Legia tried to win their 5th SuperCup after not being in the Super Cup last year for the first time since 2010. The Polish Super Cup (, ) is an annually held match between the champions of the Ekstraklasa and the Polish Cup winners or, if the Ekstraklasa champions also win the Polish Cup, the Cup's runners-up. As of 2024, the Polish Super Cup has been played 34 times. The most successful club is Lech Poznań, who won 6 times. The most common participant has been Legia Warsaw, as they have played sixteen final games and lost their eight following finals between 2012 and 2021. Unlike the Polish Cup, there is no extra time played in the competition, therefore in case of a draw after regular time, the match goes straight into a penalty shoot-out. In sports, a reserve team is a team composed of players who are under contract to a club but who do not regularly play in matches for the club's primary team.
