Ivy Log (or Ivylog) is a town in Union County, Georgia, United States. The original town centered on Casteel Mill at the mouth of Ivy Log Creek. Ivy Log is located along US 19 U.S. Route 19 or U.S. Highway 19 (US 19) is a north–south United States Numbered Highway in the Eastern United States. Union County, Georgia
Union County is a county in the Northeast region of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 24,632. The county seat is Blairsville. History Union County was originally a core part of the homeland of the native Cherokee tribe. Mountainous and formerly one of the most remote and inaccessible parts of Georgia, the area became the object of desire for white settlers with the discovery of gold in the 1820s. While the gold rush didn't last long, a land lottery system opened up the area for settlement in the 1830s and Union County was formed in 1832, carved from part of Cherokee County. The newcomers formed political groups to force the Cherokee off their land, part of the removal of most of the southeastern native tribes in what is known as the Trail of Tears. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and location information about more than two million physical and cultural features, encompassing the United States and its territories; the Compact of Free Association, associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau; and Antarctica. It is a type of gazetteer. It was developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the United States Board on Geographic Names (BGN) to promote the standardization of feature names. State Route 11 (SR 11) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Georgia, traveling through portions of Echols, Lanier, Berrien, Irwin, Ben Hill, Wilcox, Pulaski, Houston, Peach, Bibb, Jones, Jasper, Newton, Walton, Barrow, Jackson, Hall, White, Lumpkin, and Union counties. Georgia State Route 325
State Route 325 (SR 325) is an arc-shaped state highway completely within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in Union County in the extreme northern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It hugs the western and northern shores of Lake Nottely, and is known as Nottely Dam Road for its entire length. Route description SR 325 begins at an intersection with US 76/ SR 2/ SR 515 west of Blairsville. The highway travels to the northeast, and curves to a roughly northern direction, and crosses over Odom Creek and passes Confidence Cemetery.
