Iver Høy
Iver Hesselberg Høy (26 September 1877 – 8 March 1943) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was born in Langesund as a son of shipmaster Christian Høy (1836–1896) and Karen Elise Wright. In December 1902 he married ship captain's daughter Lille Petersen. Their daughter Cathrine married professor of medicine Erik Poppe. He took his education at Horten Technical School in 1897 and in Germany from 1899 to 1906. He was the manager of Meraker Smelteverk from 1906 to 1918. The factory was owned by Meraker Brug AS Meraker Brug is a company which owns of wilderness and forest estate, mostly in Meråker Municipality, Norway. Langesund
is the administrative centre of Bamble Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The town is located on a peninsula along the Langesundsfjorden near the Skaggerak coast. The town of Stathelle lies about to the northwest. The town was established as a ladested in 1765 and on 1 January 1838 it became a self-governing municipality. In 1964, it became part of Bamble Municipality. For a long time, Langesund and neighboring Stathelle have been grouped together as part of the Porsgrunn/Skien metropolitan area and because of this, the population and area data for this town has not been separately tracked by Statistics Norway.
