The Ivaí River (Portuguese language, Portuguese, Rio Ivaí) is a river of Paraná (state), Paraná state in southern Brazil. It is a tributary of the Paraná River. Its official spelling is Ivaí, with variants including Ivahy and Ival. The river basin is ecologically very degraded, with fragile and vulnerable soil. It contains the Perobas Biological Reserve, a strictly protected conservation unit created in 2006. Paraná (state)
Paraná () is one of the 26 states of Brazil, in the Southern Region, Brazil, south of the country. It is bordered in the north by São Paulo (state), São Paulo state, in the east by the Atlantic Ocean, in the south by Santa Catarina state and the province of Misiones Province, Misiones, Argentina, and in the west by Mato Grosso do Sul and Paraguay, with the Paraná River as its western boundary. Perobas Biological Reserve
Perobas Biological Reserve () is a biological reserve in the state of Paraná, Brazil. History The reserve, which has an area of , was created on 20 March 2006. It is located in the municipalities of Tuneiras do Oeste and Cianorte of Paraná. It is managed by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation. Status As of 2009 the Biological Reserve was a "strict nature reserve" under IUCN protected area category Ia.
