István Urbányi
István Urbányi (born 17 April 1967) is a Hungarian former football player and coach. He is currently the head coach for Sporting Kansas City II in MLS Next Pro. Career Urbányi was born in Salgótarján. As a player, he spent most of his career at Budapest Honvéd and Győri ETO as a defender and midfielder. In 1990, he played two games for Hungary After a nearly two decade-long career, in 1999 he also trialled with FK Lofoten in Norway. He was the head coach of Újpest from December 2006 to April 2008. In the end of February 2009, he was appointed as the head coach of the national team of Maldives. His first assignment as the coach of the Maldives was the AFC Challenge Cup qualification, where Maldives faced Bhutan, Philippines and Turkmenistan. His contract ran out in 2010 and following the sides could not reach an agreement over an extension, Urbányi left the Maldives. Eydhafushi ( Dhivehi: އޭދަފުށި) is the capital of Baa Atoll, which is an administrative division of the Maldives. Sporting Kansas City II is a MLS Next Pro club affiliated with Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer. For the 2022 season they will play their home games at Rock Chalk Park at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, as well as Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri. They were formerly known as the Swope Park Rangers. The club is headquartered alongside Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. Peter Joseph Vermes (; born November 21, 1966) is an American professional soccer coach and former player. From 2009 to 2025, he was the manager of Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer. Entering the 2025 MLS season, Vermes was the longest-tenured head coach in MLS and has won four major trophies as a manager, the second most of all active coaches in MLS. As a player, Vermes spent several seasons playing in Hungary, the Netherlands, before establishing himself as a defender in Major League Soccer, playing for MetroStars, Colorado Rapids and the Kansas City Wizards.
