Israel David Bascón Gigato (born 16 March 1987), known simply as Israel, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a right midfielder. Most of his professional career, which was bothered by physical problems, was spent at Betis. Club career Betis Israel was born in Utrera, Province of Seville. Utrera
Utrera () is a municipality in south-west Spain. It is in the province of Seville, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. As of 2018 it has a population of 52,617. The town is of great historical interest. It was occupied by Muslims in the 8th century and was not finally incorporated into the kingdom of Castile until 1340. Records about the town date back to the 13th century, when Alfonso X overran Utrera as part of his conquest of Seville, located 30 km to the northwest. However, archaeological work shows people have lived on the site since pre-Roman times. Today the town's five chapels,dating from the 14th to 18th centuries, churches and 14th century castle are popular tourist attractions for visitors to Andalusia. Joaquín Sánchez Rodríguez (; born 21 July 1981), known mononymously as Joaquín, is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a right winger. He was best known for his pace and acceleration, as well as excellent dribbling and crossing ability. During his career, he was mainly associated with Betis and Valencia, appearing in a joint-record 622 La Liga matches over 20 seasons and scoring 77 goals while winning the Copa del Rey with both clubs (twice with the former). In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958.
