Isobel Borlase
Isobel Borlase (born 12 September 2004) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Melbourne Tigers of the NBL1 South. She is also contracted with the Bendigo Spirit of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She debuted for the Adelaide Lightning of the WNBL in 2022, and in 2023 won the WNBL Sixth Woman of the Year and WNBL Breakout Player of the Year. In 2024, she was named to the All-WNBL First Team and was drafted 20th overall by the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA draft. Borlase helped the Australian Gems win silver at the 2021 FIBA Under-19 World Cup and gold at the 2022 FIBA Under-18 Asian Championship. Guard (basketball)
Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center. The All-WNBL Team is an annual Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) honour bestowed on the best performing players in the league following every WNBL season. 2022 FIBA Under-18 Women's Asian Championship
The 2022 FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship was an international under-18 basketball competition that was held in Bangalore, India, from 5 to 11 September 2022. The tournament was the 25th edition of the biennial FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship. The top four teams qualified for the 2023 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain. The women's 5x5 basketball tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics was the 21st edition of the event for women at the Summer Olympic Games. It was held from 28 July to 11 August 2024. WNBL Breakout Player Of The Year Award
The WNBL Breakout Player of the Year (formerly the WNBL Youth Player of the Year Award) is an annual Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) award given since the 1988 WNBL season. The award is named the Betty Watson Breakout Player of the Year Award. The award underwent a makeover for the 2019–20 season with new criteria seeing Australian players 23 years old or under eligible for Youth Player of the Year, replacing the long-standing Rookie of the Year.
