Isnag Language
Isnag (also called ''Isneg'' a term used by the Ilocanos) is a language spoken by around 50,101 Isnag people of Apayao Province in the Cordillera Administrative Region in the northern Philippines, who are also found in parts of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte. Their populations are distributed across the municipalities of Calanasan, Kabugao, Pudtol, Flora, Luna, Santa Marcela, and Conner in Apayao; the eastern part of Ilocos Norte, specifically Adams, Carasi, Dumalneg, Vintar, Marcos, Dingras, Solsona, Bangui, and Pagudpud; the northwestern part of Cagayan, particularly Santa Praxedes, Claveria, Sanchez Mira, and Pamplona; and the northern part of Abra, particularly Tineg. Kabugao
Kabugao, officially the Municipality of Kabugao (; Itawis: ''Babalay yo Kabugao''; ), is a municipality and ''de jure'' capital of the province of Apayao, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 16,215 people. History On July 12, 1915, Governor General Francis Burton Harrison issued ''Executive Order No. 45'', transferring the capital of then sub-province of Apayao from Tauit to Kabugao, to be effective on August 1. Dingras
Dingras, officially the Municipality of Dingras (; ), is a municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 40,127 people distributed over 31 barangays. Etymology The Legend of Dingras Legend has it that in the early times, there were two prosperous barangays in the present site of the town - each ruled by a powerful chief or datu. They were bitter and mortal enemies. Naslag was the powerful chief of the barangay north of the river, while Allawigan was the chief of the barangay to the south of the river. Marcos, Ilocos Norte
Marcos, officially the Municipality of Marcos (; ), is a municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 18,010. Vintar
Vintar, officially the Municipality of Vintar (; ), is a municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 33,339 people. Vintar is the largest municipality in Ilocos Norte by land area. Its patron saint is Saint Nicholas de Tolentino. It is home to one of the biggest convents in the province, which also hosts the Saint Nicholas Academy. Dumalneg
Dumalneg, officially the Municipality of Dumalneg (; ), is a municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 3,087 people. Dumalneg was composed of only a single barangay of the same name until August 10, 2012, when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Dumalneg in its territorial dispute with neighboring Bangui over the jurisdiction of Barangay San Isidro.
