Isidoro Rudimch
Isidoro Rudimch (4 April 1942 – 31 August 1999) was a Palauan entrepreneur, politician and President of the Senate of Palau. Rudimch was born 4 April 1942 in Koror. He attended Xavier High School in Truk, and St. Joseph High School in Hilo and Chaminade College in Hawai'i. He was an entrepreneur in Koror. Rudimch was elected as a member of the Congress of Micronesia lower house, House of Representatives, in 1970s. Rudimch was a candidate for Vice President of Palau in the 1980 elections, but did not succeed. Rudimch was elected to the Senate of Palau four times, from January 1985 until his death. He was elected as the President of the Senate of Palau three times: from January 1985 to October 1986, from 1991 to November 1992 and February 1997 until his death 31 August 1999. Senate Of Palau
The Senate of Palau is the upper house of the Palau National Congress (''Olbiil era Kelulau''). The Senate has 13 members serving four-year terms in multi-seat constituencies. Since January 2025, the Senate has 15 members. No political parties exist. The most recent election was held in November 2024. Membership The Constitution does not indicate the number of a members of the Senate. Every 8 years, the National Congress appoints a reapportionment commission to draw up and recommend a district map allocating seats in accordance with the population. Therefore, the number of senators may change as frequently as every 8 years. Any voter can challenge a reapportionment before the Palau Supreme Court. During the first legislature in 1981, there were 18 Senators, which was reduced to 14 in 1984. Congress Of The Trust Territory Of The Pacific Islands
The Congress of Micronesia was a bicameral legislature in Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands from 1964 to 1979. History The Congress was established on 28 September 1964, when the US Secretary of the Interior Stewart Udall issued order no. 2882. It replaced the previous Council of Micronesia, which had been based outside the Trust Territory in Guam. The first elections were held in January 1965. The Congress was initially composed of a House of Delegates and General Assembly, which were later renamed the Senate and House of Representatives. The Congress building was burnt down in an arson attack on 20 February 1970. Composition The Senate had 12 members, two from each of the six districts. The House of Representatives had 21 members, with seats apportioned to each district based on their population – five from Truk, four from the Marshall Islands and Ponape, three from the Mariana Islands and Palau and two from Yap.

General elections were held in Palau on 4 November 1980 to elect a president, vice-president, Senate and House of Delegates. All candidates ran as independents. Haruo Remeliik won the election for president with 31.2% of the vote, whilst Alfonso Oiterong was elected vice-president. Voter turnout was 80%. Chaminade University of Honolulu is a private Marianist university in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. Founded in 1955 by the Society of Mary, Chaminade is located in Kaimuki, Honolulu at the base of St. Louis Heights. Chaminade offers bachelor's degrees in 23 fields of study and 5 master's degree programs. Chaminade University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission. History Chaminade University of Honolulu was named after Father William Joseph Chaminade, a French Catholic priest who survived persecution during the French Revolution. Peter Sugiyama
Peter Lawrence Naoya Sugiyama (19 April 1943–10 June 2007) was a Palauan politician. Personal life Sugiyama's father was a Japanese immigrant. He moved to Koror in 1914 at the invitation of his uncle, after the Japanese Empire seized control of the islands as part of its World War I invasion of German New Guinea (which control would later be formalised by the League of Nations as the South Seas Mandate). He began his new life there as a teacher, but would go on to manage a fruit packing company and a cafe. He married Rosang Sayoko Serek, the daughter of a local chieftain. Peter Sugiyama himself was born to Hayato and Rosang on April 19, 1943.
