In Situ Hybridization
''In situ'' hybridization (ISH) is a type of Hybridisation (molecular biology), hybridization that uses a labeled complementary DNA, RNA or modified nucleic acid strand (i.e., a Hybridization probe, probe) to localize a specific DNA or RNA sequence in a portion or section of tissue (biology), tissue (''in situ'') or if the tissue is small enough (e.g., plant seeds, ''Drosophila'' embryos), in the entire tissue (whole mount ISH), in cells, and in circulating tumor cells (CTCs). This is distinct from immunohistochemistry, which usually localizes proteins in tissue sections. In situ hybridization is used to reveal the location of specific nucleic acid sequences on chromosomes or in tissues, a crucial step for understanding the organization, regulation, and function of genes. The key techniques currently in use include ''in situ'' hybridization to mRNA with oligonucleotide and RNA probes (both radio-labeled and hapten-labeled), analysis with light and electron microscopes, whole mo ... The alphabet was based on the Latin alphabet used in English, though with several additional letters that Franklin newly invented. The alphabet Franklin modified the standard English alphabet by omitting the letters c, j, q, w, x, and y, and adding new letters to explicitly represent the open-mid back Open-mid back rounded vowel, rounded and Open-mid back unrounded vowel, unrounded vowels, and the consonants Voiceless postalveolar fricative, sh , Voiced velar nasal, ng , Voiced dental fricative, dh , and Voiceless dental fricative, th . It was one of the earlier proposed spelling reforms to the English language. The alphabet consisted of 26 letters in the following order: Other English phonemes are represented as follows: * is represented as ''hu'' (as in ''huɥi'' for ''why''). * is represented as ''ɥi'' (as in ''ɥiz'' for ''eyes''). ... Usage People from Uromi, Irrua and Ewu speak slightly different Esan dialect compared to people from Uzea, even though there is documentation that Uromi people and the Uzea people have common ancestry. Such variations in tongue and spelling of words are common in the Esan language. Most annual Esan Kings' Council meetings are largely conducted in English for this reason. However, the Esan language has been described as regionally important. It is taught in schools throughout Esanland, and Esan language radio and ... Intrastructural Help
Intrastructural help (ISH) is where T and B cells cooperate to help or suppress an immune response gene. ISH has proven effective for the treatment of influenza, rabies related lyssavirus, hepatitis B, and the HIV virus. This process was used in 1979 to observe that T cells specific to the influenza virus could promote the stimulation of hemagglutinin specific B cells and elicit an effective humoral immune response. It was later applied to the lyssavirus and was shown to protect raccoons from lethal challenge. The ISH principle is especially beneficial because relatively invariable structural antigens can be used for the priming of T-cells to induce humoral immune response against variable surface antigens. Thus, the approach has also transferred well for the treatment of hepatitis B and HIV. Background One of the approaches for a protective HIV-1 vaccine is broadly neutralizing antibodies. These antibodies are found in 10-25 % of HIV-1 infected patients. Few of those (worldwi ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
