Iscomar
Iscomar (Compania Iscomar S.A.) was a company which operated a single ferry service between Alcudia on the Balearic island of Mallorca and Ciutadella on the Balearic island of Menorca. It used to operate ferry services from the Balearic's to the Spanish mainland. After 2009, Iscomar stopped operating all of its routes except its Alcudia - Ciutadella service. In September 2016, Iscomar closed down after operating for 37 years. History Iscomar began operations in 1979 with a small fleet of container ships. In 1998 Iscomar commenced a passenger service between Alcudia and Ciutadella using the Japanese built MS Nura Nova. Ciutadella De Menorca
Ciutadella de Menorca () or simply Ciutadella is a town and a municipality in the western end of Menorca, one of the Balearic Islands (Spain). It is one of the two primary cities in the island, along with Maó. History It was founded by the Carthaginians, and became the seat of a bishop in the 4th century. Trasmediterránea operates passengers and cargo ferries between mainland Spain and the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, and northern Africa's Spanish territories. Since 2017 the majority of the company belongs to Naviera Armas. History The Trasmediterránea ("cross-mediterranean") company was constituted on November 26, 1916, with the fusion of the companies of shipowners José Juan Dómine, Vicente Ferrer, Joaquín Tintoré and Enrique García, though it didn't start operating until January 1 of following year.
