Irom Maipak
Irom Maipak (20 August 1967 – 20 May 2021) was an Indian cinematographer from Imphal, Manipur. He was the founding president of the All Manipur Cinematographers Association. Maipak had worked for more than three decades in Films and Television industry. He received the prestigious National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Film Cinematography at the 49th National Film Awards. He died from COVID-19 complications on 20 May 2021. Career Irom Maipak mastered the craft from Fulbright scholar, Ernest Gusella and Tomiyo Sasaki from United States and Aribam Syam Sharma. He had associated with renowned National Award winning filmmakers. 49th National Film Awards
The 49th National Film Awards, presented by Directorate of Film Festivals, the organisation set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India to felicitate the best of Indian Cinema released in the year 2001. Awards were announced by the committee headed by K. S. Sethumadhavan, K. K. Kapil and Bharat Gopy for the feature films, non-feature films and books written on Indian cinema, respectively, on 26 July 2002; whereas award ceremony took place on 13 February 2003 and awards were given away by then President of India, A. 62nd National Film Awards

Moirangthem Maniram Singha (born 1970) is an Indian film maker, director, producer and scriptwriter of Assamese and Manipuri cinema. Born in Manipur, he is currently living in North Lakhimpur district of Assam. Family background His father Bolbihari who hailed from a village called Phumlou, near Mayang Langjing in Manipur came to Assam at the age of 14. He enrolled himself in a training programme in tailoring trade from ITI, Jorhat. After the completion of the course, he set up a tailoring shop next to a cinema hall in Tinsukia. Early days Maniram did his schooling from Doomdooma Don Bosco School, Tinsukia. He loved movies since his childhood.
