Irmgard Seefried (9 October 191924 November 1988) was a distinguished German soprano who sang opera, sacred music, and lieder. Maria Theresia Irmgard Seefried was born in , near Mindelheim, Bavaria, Germany, the daughter of educated Austrian-born parents. She studied at Augsburg University before making her debut in Aachen as the priestess in Verdi's '' Aida'' in 1940. She began to sing leading parts in 1942 (Agathe in Weber's '' Der Freischütz'' in 1942, and the next year she made her debut at Vienna State Opera with Eva in Wagner's '' Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg'' conducted by Karl Böhm). Irmgard Schwaetzer (born 5 April 1942) is a German politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and a Protestant church official. From 2013 to 2021, she chaired the Synod of the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD). She is the central founding figure, as well as honorary chairwoman, of the Liberal Women. Early life and education In 1971, Schwaetzer received a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Bonn. Career From 1980 to 2002, Schwaetzer served as a member of the Bundestag. Under the leadership of chairman Hans-Dietrich Genscher, she was the Secretary General of the FDP between 1982 and 1984. Following the 1987 West German federal election, Schwaetzer was appointed as Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office in the government led by Chancellor Helmut Kohl. Irmgard Praetz (9 August 1920 – 7 November 2008) was a German track and field athlete who competed mainly in the long jump. She was the gold medallist in that event at the 1938 European Athletics Championships. She achieved her career best mark of at the competition, which ranked her third globally for the year. Irmgard Maria Elisabeth Möller (born 13 May 1947) is a German former militant. She joined the far-left terrorist group Red Army Faction (RAF) in 1971. After participating in two bombings, she was arrested the following year. During the German Autumn of 1977, she was one of the prisoners demanded by the RAF to be freed and was part of an alleged suicide pact in Stammheim Prison with Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin and Jan-Carl Raspe. Irmgard Lukasser (born 3 February 1954 in Assling) is an Austrian former alpine skier who competed in the 1976 Winter Olympics. After several Tyrolean and Austrian youth championships in both downhill and giant slalom events, Lukasser took part in the Ski World Cup for the first time in December 1972; at Val d'Isere, she finished in third place. In January 1973 she achieved two more medals in Pfronten. With several top 10 finishes, she qualified for the 1974 World Cup in St. Moritz.
