It is set in a cave, with the player starting at the cave's entrance at the top. The objective is to get to the treasure at the bottom. ''Spelunker'' was ported to the Commodore 64, then re-released by Broderbund in 1984, with European publishing rights licensed to Ariolasoft. It was released as an arcade video game in 1985, on the Nintendo Entertainment System on December 7, 1985 in Japan and September 1987 in North America, and MSX in 1986. Air Duel
is a vertically scrolling shooter game released for arcades by Irem in 1990. It was followed by an unofficial sequel called ''Air Assault'' in the west and ''Fire Barrel'' (ファイアーバレル) in Japan. Gameplay left, Gameplay screenshot The player selects from a jet fighter or attack helicopter, shoot enemies in the air and ground, collect power-ups, and defeat bosses to advance levels. The game differs from most others in the genre in that the players can change the aircraft they use at the start of each level. The jet fighter always shoots straight forward; power-ups increase the width and strength of its shots. The helicopter fires thinner and weaker shots, but turns in the direction it moves (similar to the later '' Zero Gunner''), giving it great range; powerups increase the strength of shots, as well as the number of bullets per shot (adding a small "spread" effect to the shot while moving around). Both the fighter and the helicopter also start with three bombs ...

X-Multiply
is a horizontally scrolling shooter published by Irem, and similar in style to their earlier ''R-Type''. In 1998, the game was released with ''Image Fight'' as a one-disc doublebill on PlayStation and Sega Saturn. In 2019, the game was released on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch as part of Hamster Corporation's Arcade Archives series. Gameplay The game itself is a side-scroller like ''R-Type'', albeit with a short vertical-scrolling area towards the end of the sixth level. Instead of the Force pod, however, the main power-up apparatus takes the form of two flexible tentacles. The tentacles are invulnerable to all enemy attacks, and can be positioned with careful maneuvering of the X-002. Konami's '' Xexex'' is based on a fusion of this weaponry with the Force system of ''R-Type''. In the PlayStation 2 game ''R-Type Final'', the ship "RX-12 Cross The Rubicon" uses the "Flexible Force", a Force based on ''XMultiply'' with roughly the same attacks. Plot The game centers aroun ...

R-Type II
is a horizontally scrolling shooter developed and published by Irem. It was released in arcades in 1989. It is the sequel to ''R-Type'', and the second game in the ''R-Type'' series. Gameplay The player controls a ship called the R-9C, which is an improved version of its predecessor game's ship, the R-9. The ship's design was changed slightly, and the Wave Cannon is given a new charge level. Two new types of weapons (the Search Laser and Shotgun Laser) were added, bringing the total number of weapon types up to five. A new anti-ground unit bomb was added to the missile inventory. Though the number of levels was decreased from the previous game, the number of enemies, their durability, and the number of bullets they shoot were greatly increased. Enemy movements and terrain were also made trickier, bringing the game's difficulty up considerably. The same revival system is used as in ''R-Type'', where the player is brought back to a checkpoint whenever their ship is destroyed. ...

Dragon Breed
is a horizontally scrolling shooter video game produced by Irem and released in arcades in 1989. It runs on M72 and M81 hardware. Activision released home computer conversions in 1990. Gameplay The player controls King Kayus, who rides a large dragon named Bahamoot. Bahamoot is immune to enemy attacks, capable of blocking most projectiles and damaging enemies on contact; Kayus, however, is not, but is armed with a forward-firing crossbow. Bahamoot's body is flexible and responds to Kayus' movement, enabling Kayus to use Bahamoot as a mobile shield or as a whip-like weapon. The player can also circle the tail around a group of enemies to kill them. The tail of the yellow or blue dragon can be coiled around the player to offer almost complete invulnerability for a limited time. Bahamoot can also spit fireballs. By holding the fire button down, the dragon will build up fire in its mouth; the longer the button is held down, the more powerful the fireball will be. There are four ...
