Irakli Kobakhidze
Irakli Kobakhidze ( ka, ირაკლი კობახიძე; born 25 September 1978) is a Georgian politician who haa been the 16th Prime Minister of Georgia, prime minister of Georgia since 2024 and has been the Georgian Dream#Leadership, chairman of Georgian Dream since May 2025, having previously served in this role from 2021 to 2024. A member of Georgian Dream, Kobakhidze previously served as a member of the Georgian Parliament from 2016 to 2024, the sixth Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia, chairman of the Parliament of Georgia from 2016 to 2019, and the vice-president of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from 2020 to 2022. Excellency
Excellency is an honorific style (manner of address), style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. The Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic, also known as Soviet Georgia, the Georgian SSR, or simply Georgia, was one of the republics of the Soviet Union from its second occupation (by the Red Army) in 1921 to its independence in 1991. Georgia–European Union Relations
The former European Community and Georgia established relations in 1992. After the Maastricht Treaty on creation of the European Union, Georgia deepened its ties with the EU through a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) signed in 1996. In 2006, a five-year "Action Plan" of rapprochement was implemented in the context of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). In 2009, relations between the two were further upgraded under the auspices of Eastern Partnership.
