Irakal
''Irakal'' () is a 1985 Indian Malayalam-language psychological thriller film written and directed by K. G. George and produced by Sukumaran. The film stars K. B. Ganesh Kumar, Thilakan, Sukumaran, Ashokan, and Radha. It won two Kerala State Film Awards— Second Best Film, and Best Story. Irakal is considered the first dark movie in Malayalam and is regarded as a classic film. Plot A ruthless Syrian Christian rubber baron, Mathews aka Mathukutty, builds an empire through business acumen and greasing palms of cops and labour union leaders. His business includes marijuana and hooch. His son, Koshy, who is the second-in-command in his business and illegal activities, is equally ruthless and violent. Sukumaran
E. P. P. Sukumaran Nair (10 June 1948 – 16 June 1997), known mononymously as Sukumaran, was an Indian actor and producer of Malayalam films. Sukumaran became a popular film star in Malayalam cinema during the 1970s. He was considered one of the superstar trios of Malayalam cinema during the late 1970s and early 1980s along with Soman and Jayan. Later, he became known for his character roles and antagonistic roles during the 1980s and 1990s, notably the villain in '' CID Unnikrishnan B.A., B.Ed.'' (1994) and '' Onnaam Muhurtham'' (1991), playing character roles in films like '' Souhrudam'' (1990). In 1978, he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in M. T. Udaya Chandrika, better known by her screen name Radha (born 3 June 1965) is a former Indian actress, who predominantly appeared in Tamil and Telugu films in addition to a few Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. She was one of the top heroines in the film industry for about a decade, from 1981 to 1991, dominating the 1980s era. Her elder sister Ambika, was is an actress. Palappurathu Keshavan Surendranatha Thilakan (15 July 1935 – 24 September 2012) was an Indian film and stage actor who appeared in over 200 Malayalam films. Thilakan was known for his elaborate method acting, realistic and spontaneous appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest actors in Malayalam cinema. Srividya (24 July 1953 – 19 October 2006), was an Indian actress best known for her work predominantly in Malayalam and Tamil films, along with few Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. In a career spanning for 40 years, she had acted in more than 800 films. In the latter part of her career, she concentrated on Malayalam films. In addition to acting, Srividya occasionally worked as a playback singer as well as carnatic singer. She was also a well trained Bharathanatyam dancer. Azeez (27 November 1934 – 16 July 2003) was an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema. He acted in more than 100 films. He came into the movie industry as a villain, and later, he started doing character roles, such as police officer, jailer, and minister.
