The 22nd District of the Iowa Senate is located in southern Iowa, and is currently composed of Dallas and Polk Counties. Sarah Trone Garriott
Sarah Trone Garriott is an American politician and minister serving as a member of the Iowa Senate from the Iowa Senate, District 14, 14th district. Elected in November 2020, she assumed office on January 11, 2021. Early life and education Garriott was born in Minneapolis. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the College of St. Scholastica, a Master of Theological Studies from the Harvard Divinity School, and a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. After earning her undergraduate degree, Garriot worked as a volunteer with AmeriCorps VISTA in New Mexico. Iowa's 3rd Congressional District
Iowa's 3rd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Iowa that covers its southwestern quadrant, which roughly consists of an area stretching from Des Moines to the borders with Nebraska and Missouri. From 2013 to 2022, the district covered the southwestern corner of the state, from the Des Moines metropolitan area on the northeastern end to the greater Council Bluffs area on the southwestern end. The district has been represented in the United States House of Representatives by Democrat Cindy Axne since 2019. Charles Schneider (born June 24, 1973) is an American politician of the Republican Party, who served as a member of the Iowa Senate representing the state's 22nd district. Larry McKibben
Larry E. McKibben (born January 5, 1947, in Marshalltown, Iowa) was the Iowa State Senator from the 22nd District. He had served in the Iowa Senate since 1997 and was an assistant minority leader until he retired in 2008. He received his B.A. (1970) from the University of Northern Iowa and his J.D. (1972) from the University of Iowa College of Law. He was admitted to the Iowa bar in 1973. Patrick J. Deluhery (born January 31, 1942) is an American academic and politician from Iowa. He served in the Iowa Senate from 1979 to 2003, and was a longtime instructor at St. Ambrose University. Biography Patrick J. Deluhery was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on January 31, 1942, to Frank B. and Lucille (Donovan) Deluhery. Cynthia Lynne Axne (née Wadle; born April 20, 1965) is an American politician who is the U.S. representative from Iowa's 3rd congressional district since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, she narrowly defeated incumbent Republican David Young in the 2018 elections. The Iowa Senate is the upper house of the Iowa General Assembly, United States. There are 50 seats in the Iowa Senate, representing 50 single-member districts across the state of Iowa with populations of approximately 60,927 per constituency, . Each Senate district is composed of two House districts. The Senate meets at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Unlike the lower house, the Iowa House of Representatives, Senators serve four-year terms, with no term limits. Terms are staggered so that half the Senate is up for reelection every two years.
