Ion Geolgău
Ion Geolgău (born 20 February 1961) is a former Romanian football midfielder and manager. Club career Ion Geolgău was born in Pielești, Dolj County. On 7 November 1976, being 15 years and 9 months old, Geolgău made his Liga I, Divizia A debut under coach Constantin Teașcă, playing for FC Universitatea Craiova, Universitatea Craiova in a 3–1 victory against FC UTA Arad, UTA Arad. After his debut, writer Adrian Păunescu wrote an article about him called ''Visul lui Geolgău'' ''(Geolgău's dream)'', in which he mistaken Geolgău's first name calling him Gheorghiță instead of Ion, thus ''Gheorghiță'' becoming Ion Geolgău's nickname. On 16 March 1977, he scored his first Liga I, Divizia A goal at the age of 16 in a 5–0 victory against Progresul București. Constantin Teașcă
Constantin Teașcă also known as Titi Teașcă (25 September 1922 – 30 July 1996) was a Romanian football player and manager. Nicknamed "Little Napoleon", Teașcă was known for his controversial training methods for which he would get in conflicts with the players. He was the manager of Romania on two occasions, first in 1962 and then in 1967. He had one experience outside Romania when he managed Turkish side Fenerbahçe from 1970 to 1971. Teașcă has a total of 323 matches as a manager in the Romanian top-division, Divizia A consisting of 120 victories, 64 draws and 139 losses. Playing career Constantin Teașcă was born on 25 September 1922 in Giurgiu, Romania, starting to play junior level football in 1932 at local club, Acvila. In 1940 he started to play for Acvila's senior team, being a midfielder, then in 1946 he went to play for Concordia Ploiești. 1982–83 Cupa României
The 1982–83 Cupa României was the 45th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Universitatea Craiova against Politehnica Timișoara. Craiova were unable to play in the 1983–84 European Cup Winners' Cup though, as the closing date for entries was a week before the final. The Cupa României () is a Association football, football cup competition for List of football clubs in Romania, Romanian teams which has been held annually since 1933–34 Cupa României, 1933–34, except during World War II. Ion Oblemenco
Ion Oblemenco (13 May 1945 – 1 September 1996) was a Romanian football player and manager who spent the majority of his playing career with Universitatea Craiova. A prolific striker, he is known for finishing four seasons as top goalscorer in the Romanian top division, Divizia A. With a total of 170 goals in 272 appearances, he is the sixth highest-scoring player in the history of the competition. However, these performances were not enough to earn him a cap for the national team. Playing career Ion Oblemenco, nicknamed "Tunarul" (The Cannon) because of his goalscoring ability, was born in Corabia, Olt County and began his youth career in 1958 at the age of 13 with local club Progresul. Valentin Stănescu
Valentin Stănescu (20 November 1922 – 4 April 1994) was a Romanian football goalkeeper and manager. Stănescu and Constantin Cernăianu are the only two coaches who have managed the big three Bucharest city rivals, Steaua, Dinamo, and Rapid. U Craiova 1948 Club Sportiv, commonly known as Universitatea Craiova (), CS U Craiova, or simply U Craiova, is a Romanian professional football club based in Craiova, Dolj County.
