The Inwood–207th Street station (formerly Washington Heights–207th Street) is the northern terminal station of the IND Eighth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 207th Street and Broadway in the Manhattan neighborhood of Inwood, near Inwood Hill Park, it is served by the A train at all times. R211 (New York City Subway Car)
The R211 is a class of New Technology Train (NTT) subway cars built for the New York City Transit Authority. Being built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries Rolling Stock Company, Kawasaki Railcar Manufacturing for the B Division (NYCS), B Division of the New York City Subway and for the Staten Island Railway (SIR), they will replace aging subway car models: all R44 (New York City Subway car), R44 cars on the SIR, plus all R46 (New York City Subway car), R46 and some R68 (New York City Subway car), R68 subway cars. 207th Street Yard
The New York City Transit Authority operates 24 rail yards for the New York City Subway system and one for the Staten Island Railway. There are 10 active A Division yards and 11 active B Division yards, two of which are shared between divisions for storage and car washing. In addition, there is one yard for the Staten Island Railway and three non-revenue (Maintenance of Way, or MoW) Division-independent yards. Many of the system's yards are used for off-peak storage, whereas some have inspection facilities where basic routine maintenance is carried out.
