Jean-Benoît Bost
Jean-Benoît Bost (born 27 July 1961, in Neuilly-sur-Seine) is a French mathematician. Early life and education In 1977, Bost graduated from the Lycée Louis-le-Grand and finished first in the Concours général, a national competition. Bost studied from 1979 to 1983 (qualifying in 1981 for the ''agrégation des mathématiques'') at the École Normale Supérieure (ENS), where he was from 1984 to 1988 '' agrégé-préparateur'' (teacher) and worked under the direction of Alain Connes. Career From 1988, Bost was ''chargé de recherches'' and from 1993 ''directeur de recherches'' at CNRS. From 1993 to 2006, he was ''maître de conferences'' at the École polytechnique. He has been a professor at l'Université Paris-Saclay (Paris XI) in Orsay since 1998. Research Bost deals with noncommutative geometry (partly in collaboration with Alain Connes) with applications to quantum field theory, algebraic geometry, and arithmetic geometry. Scopus is a scientific abstract and citation database, launched by the academic publisher Elsevier as a competitor to older Web of Science in 2004. VINITI Database RAS is a database provided by the All-Russian Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (VINITI). The database is devoted to scientific publications. It is described as a large abstracting database. In general, it is indexed for the natural sciences, exact sciences, and technical sciences. Included in this database is AJ (Abstract Journal), indexed from 1981 to the present day. The database is made up of published materials encompassing, conference proceedings, trade publications, thesis, periodicals, books, patents, regulatory documents, and collected scientific literature. Russian sources make up 30% of the deposited scientific works. The database produces documents that have a bibliographal description, keywords, a heading and an abstract. ''Mathematical Reviews'' is a journal published by the American Mathematical Society (AMS) that contains brief synopses, and in some cases evaluations, of many articles in mathematics, statistics, and theoretical computer science. The AMS also publishes an associated online bibliographic database called MathSciNet, which contains an electronic version of ''Mathematical Reviews''. Reviews Mathematical Reviews was founded by Otto E. Neugebauer in 1940 as an alternative to the German journal '' Zentralblatt für Mathematik'', which Neugebauer had also founded a decade earlier, but which under the Nazis had begun censoring reviews by and of Jewish mathematicians. ''Current Contents'' is a rapid alerting service database from Clarivate, formerly the Institute for Scientific Information and Thomson Reuters. It is published online and in several different printed subject sections. History ''Current Contents'' was first published in paper format, in a single edition devoted only to biology and medicine. Other subject editions were added later. Initially, it consisted simply of a reproduction of the title pages from several hundred major peer-reviewed scientific journals, and was published weekly, with the issues containing title pages from journal issues only a few weeks previously, a shorter time lag than any service then available. The Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) is a citation index owned by Clarivate and previously by Thomson Reuters. It was created by the Eugene Garfield at the Institute for Scientific Information, launched in 1964 as Science Citation Index (SCI). It was later distributed via CD/ DVD and became available online in 1997, when it acquired the current name. Wilhelm Schlag
Wilhelm Schlag (born May 2, 1969) is a mathematician and Phillips Professor of Mathematics at Yale University. He is known for his work in harmonic analysis and partial differential equations. Career Schlag obtained his PhD at the California Institute of Technology in 1996 under the supervision of Thomas Wolff. Since then, he has held positions at Princeton University, California Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago where he was H. J. Livingston Professor of Mathematics before moving to Yale University in 2018. He has done extensive work in Fourier Analysis, Spectral theory and dispersive partial differential equations.
