Instant Freeze
"Instant Freeze" is the seventh episode of the ''Batman'' television series in its first season, originally airing on ABC February 2 and repeated on May 18, 1966. Plot Some time ago, during a fight between Batman and a criminal scientist called Doctor Schievel, the struggle only succeeded in overturning a large beaker of 'Instant Freeze' solution onto the villain. Now calling himself Mr. Freeze, Schievel is forced to live inside a super-cooled house designed to keep his body temperature at fifty degrees below zero, and only able to leave with the use of a special air-conditioned suit, Mr. Freeze decides to begin a rampage of revenge. He breaks into the Gotham City Diamond Exchange to steal some famous diamonds (otherwise known as 'ice'), but Batman and Robin, acting on a tip-off from Commissioner Gordon, arrive and attempt to stop him. Batman (TV Series)
''Batman'' is an American live action television series, based on the DC Comics character of the same name. It stars Adam West as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Burt Ward as Dick Grayson / Robin – two crime-fighting heroes who defend Gotham City from a variety of archvillains. It is known for its camp style, upbeat theme music, and its intentionally humorous, simplistic morality (aimed at its largely teenage audience). This included championing the importance of using seat belts, doing homework, eating vegetables, and drinking milk. It was described by executive producer William Dozier as the only situation comedy on the air without a laugh track. Max Hodge
Max Hodge (February 12, 1916 – August 17, 2007) was an American television writer who worked on shows including '' The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.'', ''CHiPS'' and '' Mission: Impossible'', and is perhaps best known for creating Mr. Freeze for ''Batman''. Hodge grew up in East Moline, Illinois and Michigan, later graduating from the University of Michigan then enlisting in the Navy during World War II. He then attended Pasadena Playhouse College of Theater Arts and began his television career in the 1950s as a producer working on industrial shows for Oldsmobile. In his time at University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, Hodge was chief editor of the student magazine the Gargoyle and president of the men's dramatic union, the Mimes. "Batman Is Riled" is the sixth episode of the '' Batman'' television series in its first season, originally airing on ABC January 27, 1966 and repeated on May 26, 1966, and May 25, 1967. Plot synopsis Joker is about to remove Batman's mask, but the Caped Crusader escapes using a small Batmissile in his utility belt to set off the water sprinklers. Joker uses a smoke bomb to make his escape. As they are chasing him on the catwalks above, Joker uses trick streamers from his utility belt that wrap around Batman and Robin. He gets away before Batman and Robin can get themselves out of the confetti. "Rats Like Cheese" is the eighth episode of the ''Batman'' television series in its first season. First broadcast on February 3 and re-aired on May 19, 1966 it continues and concludes the story that began in "Instant Freeze". Plot synopsis In the former episode, Dr. Schivel, (also known as Mr. Freeze) previously left Batman and Robin frozen solid. An ambulance takes them to the Gotham City Hospital, where doctors use the "Super Hypertherm De-icifier" chamber to slowly restore their body temperature to normal levels. But Mr. Freeze has escaped with Princess Sandra's rare diamond, the "Giaclio Circlo". From his frozen lair, Mr. Freeze learns of their rescue as he watches the news. A henchman enters and reports the success of "Operation: Beautiful Diamond", and Mr. Freeze commands him to bring "something" into the coldest part of the lair, where Freeze can survive without his suit and his men must keep to special "hot paths" or face death from the extreme cold.
