"Instant Crush" is a song written, produced, and performed by French electronic music duo Daft Punk featuring American musician Julian Casablancas. It was released as the fourth single from Daft Punk's fourth studio album, ''Random Access Memories'' (2013), on 22 November 2013. It was number 58 on ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's 100 Best Songs of 2013 list. Production While working on the ''Tron: Legacy'' soundtrack in 2010, Daft Punk met with Casablancas in their studio through a mutual friend, Warren Fu. The duo, who are fans of Casablancas' band The Strokes, presented him with an instrumental demo track intended for use on Daft Punk's next album. Casablancas responded favorably to the demo upon listening to it and subsequently agreed to provide accompanying vocals, forming the basis for what would become "Instant Crush". Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 in Paris by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. They achieved popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French house movement, combining house music, funk, disco, techno, Rock music, rock and synth-pop. They are regarded as one of the most influential acts in electronic dance music. Daft Punk formed after their previous group, the indie rock band Darlin', disbanded. ''Daft Punk's Electroma'' (also known as ''Electroma'') is a 2006 avant-garde science fiction film directed by the French electronic music duo Daft Punk. The story revolves around the quest of two robots (the band members, played by Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich) to become human. The music featured in the film is not by Daft Punk, which was a first for the duo after their previous film and home video releases, '' D.A.F.T.: A Story About Dogs, Androids, Firemen and Tomatoes'' and '' Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem''. "The Prime Time of Your Life" is a song by French electronic music duo Daft Punk from their third studio album, '' Human After All''. It was released as the fourth and final single from the album on 17 June 2006 by record label Virgin. The song is also Daft Punk's final single on a studio album with Virgin, and was released with a music video written and directed by Tony Gardner, with makeup effects by Alterian, Inc. Tony Gardner (born in September 25, 1965, Cleveland, Ohio) is an American makeup designer, special effects designer and puppeteer. He has designed and created effects for many feature films, including the films '' Zombieland'', ''127 Hours'', '' Smokin' Aces'', ''Hairspray'', '' Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa'', ''The Addams Family'', '' Seed of Chucky,'' ''Shallow Hal'' and ''There's Something About Mary''. A vocoder (, a portmanteau of ''vo''ice and en''coder'') is a category of speech coding that analyzes and synthesizes the human voice signal for audio data compression, multiplexing, voice encryption or voice transformation. The vocoder was invented in 1938 by Homer Dudley at Bell Labs as a means of synthesizing human speech. This work was developed into the channel vocoder which was used as a voice codec for telecommunications for speech coding to conserve bandwidth in transmission. By encrypting the control signals, voice transmission can be secured against interception. Its primary use in this fashion is for secure radio communication. The advantage of this method of encryption is that none of the original signal is sent, only envelopes of the bandpass filters. Liner notes (also sleeve notes or album notes) are the writings found on the sleeves of LP record albums and in booklets that come inserted into the compact disc jewel case or cassette j-cards.
