Inferno (Captain Scarlet)
"Inferno" is the 25th episode of ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'', a British Supermarionation television series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and filmed by their production company Century 21 Productions. Written by Tony Barwick and Shane Rimmer and directed by Alan Perry, it was first broadcast on 16 April 1968 on ATV Midlands. Set in 2068, the series depicts a "war of nerves" between Earth and the Mysterons: a race of Martians with the power to create functioning copies of destroyed people or objects and use them to carry out acts of aggression against humanity. Earth is defended by a military organisation called Spectrum, whose top agent, Captain Scarlet, was killed by the Mysterons and replaced by a reconstruction that subsequently broke free of their control. Captain Black (Captain Scarlet)
Captain Black is the fictional nemesis of Captain Scarlet and the primary recurring Mysteron intermediary in the 1960s British Supermarionation television series ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' and its 2005 computer-animated remake, ''Gerry Anderson's New Captain Scarlet''. "Black" is a codename; in the original series, the character's real name is never revealed (although in tie-ins he is named as Conrad Turner), while in the remake the character's tombstone indicates that his real name is Conrad Lefkon. The character's transformation from human to Mysteron agent occurs on Mars in the first episode of each series ("The Mysterons" and "Instrument of Destruction, Part 1"). Captain Blue (born Adam Svenson) is a character in the British Supermarionation television series ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' (1967–68) and its computer-animated remake, '' Gerry Anderson's New Captain Scarlet'' (2005). He is a senior officer in the Spectrum Organisation, which is committed to defending Earth against the Mysterons, and is the best friend of Captain Scarlet. Donald Gray (born Eldred Owermann Tidbury, 3 March 1914 – 7 April 1978) was a South African actor, well known for his starring role in the British TV series ''Mark Saber'', for providing the voices of Colonel White, Captain Black and the Mysterons in ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'', and for being the reason that Donald Marshall Gray changed his name to Charles Gray when he became an actor.
