Indya Nivar
Indya Nivar (born January 16, 2004) is an American college basketball player for the North Carolina Tar Heels of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). She previously played for the Stanford Cardinal. Early life and high school career Nivar was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to Ebony Crooms-Nivar and Kenny Nivar, and has a younger sister. She played multiple sports growing up, including gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, and track, competing in the latter three at Apex Friendship High School in Apex, North Carolina. In her senior season, she averaged 18 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 3.5 steals per game and was named North Carolina Miss Basketball, the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, and McDonald's All-American. 2022 McDonald's All-American Girls Game
The 2022 McDonald's All-American Girls Game was an all-star basketball game that was held on March 29, 2022. The game's rosters featured the best and most highly recruited high school girls graduating in the class of 2022. The game was the 20th annual version of the McDonald's All-American Game first played in 2002. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the game had not been held since 2019. The 24 players were selected from over 700 nominees by a committee of basketball experts. They were chosen not only for their on-court skills, but for their performances off the court as well. In basketball, a double-double is a single-game performance in which a player accumulates ten or more in two of the following five statistical categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots. The first "double" in the term refers to the two (''double'') categories and the second "double" refers to accumulating ten or more (typically ''double'' digits) in that category. Similarly, a player records a triple-double, quadruple-double, and quintuple-double when accumulating ten or more in three, four, or all five of the statistical categories, respectively. Courtney Rosholt Banghart (born May 11, 1978) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at North Carolina Tar Heels women's basketball, North Carolina. Prior to North Carolina, she served as head coach at Princeton Tigers women's basketball, Princeton from 2007 to 2019. Playing career Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, Banghart graduated from Souhegan High School in Amherst, New Hampshire and Dartmouth College, also in New Hampshire. As a guard (basketball), guard, Banghart played for Dartmouth from 1996 to 2000, including the Dartmouth teams that won the 1999 and 2000 Ivy League titles. WCHL (1360 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
