IndustriALL – European Trade Union
IndustriALL European Trade Union is a European trade union federation, founded on 16 May 2012. The Union represents 7.1 million working people of nearly 200 European trade unions. It was formed by the consolidation of three former European union federations: * EMF, European Metalworkers' Federation * EMCEF, European Mine, Chemical and Energy Workers’ Federation * ETUF-TCL, European Trade Union Federation - Textiles Clothing and Leather Most IndustriALL European Trade Union affiliates are also members of the IndustriALL Global Union. European Metalworkers' Federation
The European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF), founded in 1971, is a federation of 68 metalworkers' unions from 31 countries, representing a combined total of 6.5 million affiliates. It is based in Brussels, Belgium, the general secretary is Ulrich Eckelman and Bart Samyn is the Deputy General Secretary. The organisation was dissolved on 15 May 2012, to become a part - together with EMCEF and ETUF-TCL - of the newly created organisation '' industriAll European Trade Union'' on 16 May 2012 Aims & Tasks One of the EMF's main aims is the deepening of the social dimension in the process of European integration. Luc Triangle
Luc Triangle (born 3 October 1961) is a Belgian trade unionist. Born in Leuven, Triangle joined the youth section of the Confederation of Christian Trade Unions in 1982. He worked for the federation from 1984, holding posts including director of its training centre, and leader of its international work. In 2011, he moved to become general secretary of the European Trade Union Federation for Textiles, Clothing and Leather. This became part of IndustriALL – European Trade Union in 2012, with Triangle appointed as a deputy general secretary. In 2016, he won election as general secretary of the federation. In April 2023, Triangle was appointed as acting general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation, following the dismissal of Luca Visentini. Judith Kirton-Darling
Judith "Jude" Kirton-Darling (born 2 June 1977) is a British politician who served as Member of the European Parliament for the North East England region for the Labour Party between 2014 and the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU. Early life Kirton-Darling was born on 2 June 1977 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She was educated in Middlesbrough, England, at Hall Garth Secondary School and Acklam Sixth Form College. In 1996, she matriculated into the University of Sheffield where she studied history and politics. In 1999, she graduated with an upper second class Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Michael Vassiliadis
Michael Zissis Vassiliadis (born 13 March 1964) is President of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Workers' Union ( IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie, IG BCE) in Germany and President of the European Confederation of Industrial Trade Unions IndustriAll Europe. Born in Essen, Vassiliadis began working in 1980, as a laboratory technician for Bayer. He joined the Chemical, Paper and Ceramic Union, and in 1986 began working full-time for the union, as secretary of its Leverkusen office. He held various posts before, in 1997, the union became part of IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie (IGB CE), and he became secretary of its board in Hannover. In 2009, Vassiliadis was elected as president of the IGBCE, and in 2011 he additionally became president of the European Mine, Chemical and Energy Workers' Federation. Trade Unions Established In 2012
Trade involves the transfer of goods and services from one person or entity to another, often in exchange for money. Economists refer to a system or network that allows trade as a market. Traders generally negotiate through a medium of credit or exchange, such as money. Though some economists characterize barter (i.e. trading things without the use of money) as an early form of trade, money was invented before written history began. Consequently, any story of how money first developed is mostly based on conjecture and logical inference. Letters of credit, paper money, and non-physical money have greatly simplified and promoted trade as buying can be separated from selling, or earning.
